My husband and I have visited Chilumey homestay multiple times, together with my parents and siblings, and it has always been a treat - location in the midst of a coffee plantation is a winner, home cooked food is absolutely delicious and the hosts are warm and friendly people and have always made us feel at home. I recommend a walk through the lush coffee plantation (if you are a morning person, an early morning walk is absolutely wonderful!). There are sights within a 10-20km drive and the hosts are very helpful with recommendations and directions to get to these sights. Thank you very much for making our visits so memorable. We look forward to returning soon!

Really good food and excellent hospitality. Loved the serenity. Do take the nature walk and the bonfire. The honesty is situated in between coffee estate.. have a look at the location in map. U ll get wat I am trying to say.

This is just like home away from home. One of the few homstays in coorg where in you just feel at home. The location is just inside the coffee plantation, lots of greenery and for sure peace all over. You can just relax and laz around. The home made food is delicious and dont forget to try coffee here i bet you wont stop at one cup.

it's a place which you visit and instantly fall in love with. Beautiful coffee estate with all sorts of trees. A point to note is that the Somwarpet area is still not as commercialized as Kushalnagar or Madikeri. Also, it has a lower temperature as well. The hosts are a beautiful and warm couple. Jagadish is a fantastic person to talk to. He made sure we had clear directions and helped us settle in. His wife is an awesome cook! We had a sumptuous spread of home cooked food which was extremely tasty. The rooms are clean. They are sparsely but adequately furnished. Warm water was provided both in the morning and evenings which was really appreciated. Special mention to the german shephard at the estate who was walking right along with us on every walk we took :) Overall, we were treated like a part of the family which I really liked! Kushalnagar and Madikeri are about 25 kms each from the place which is a beautiful drive and experience in itself. Next time I am visiting the area, I'd rather pick a place here to stay than Madikeri. It's closer to the Bangalore - Hassan - Mangalore road and is easier to drive on than the Bangalore - Mysore - Madikeri approach. Definitely recommended!

It is a homestay housed with warm people. The lady there loves cooking which works well for us - both veg and non veg, and of course the coffee is brilliant. The rooms are basic, don't expect too much, but you would generally ignore the misses in the room, compensated by the beautiful green estate the house is in :) They arrange bonfires too in chilly evenings and a relaxing walk through the farm explaining about coffee, pepper and other plantations! overall, a good and worth recommending experience!
