I stayed at Octopus Garden for 3 nights. My $55/night room included these amenities: No hot water, filthy furnishings (see the photo of the inside of the bedroom door which apparently had not been cleaned in months? years?), shower walls with long black hairs on them (not mine, I am nearly bald) intermittent WiFi, down for one 18-hour stretch, and... Once upon a time, this was likely a nice place. Unfortunately, time has weathered it and maintenance has not kept up. There are holes in the deck, the AC unit in my room was moldy (cleared out with a industrial fan) and the windows don't open... Why have a room facing the sea without the breeze? The food is mediocre... More

1 diver and 1 non diver. Stayed 2 nights. Its right on the bay and as a non diver waiting around - I didnt really like the look of the shallow rocky water out the front, so I didnt get to swim as much as I would have liked ( I paid to be dropped off on an island for... More

The owner will tell you this is a hotel where divers can relax.... If you're not a diver... forget it! I'm actually an experienced diver.. and had no inclination to dive from here whatsoever! The place is ok....the rooms are just ok... definitely nothing special... and definitely not worth the $50 per night. The food and drinks were overpriced...$2 for... More

After 5 days sailing from Colombia we arrived in Puerto Lindo. After checking trip advisor it seemed the best place to sleep and for some good food was the Hotel Octopus in the nearby town of Porto Belo (15km along the coast, $5 USD in taxi or bloke you ask on the street who has a car!). The rest of... More

I spent a total of 6 nights at Octopus Garden and received incredible service. Starting with Angel who responded very promptly to all of my inquiries, bookings, and finally, transport to and from Panama City airport and hotel. Tania, the hotel and restaurant manager, was fantastic! From asking what kind of music I liked, and then playing over their sound... More

As you drive up towards Portebelo the first place you will come to is this hotel. My advise to you is to keep driving and NOT TO STOP. It is disgusting. The rooms are dirty. The toilet didn't flush (we told Lina). The shower leaked. We were there for 3 nights and no one ever cleaned our room, caged our... More

It was pouring down rain and getting dark, so as we were driving to Portobelo we decided to find a hotel as quickly as we could. There it was - sitting on the highway and right on the water. We knew we would not find 5 star accommodations, but this delightful place was clean, clean, clean. Lina, our hostess, was... More

Avoid at all costs. Overpriced diving, drinks, room rates and bad food. Rooms have rotten window frames (lizards were coming in and out of my room), air con was either noisy or broken. The Wifi wasnt working and the hottub was out of action.

Hello Travelers, I am sorry that you did not find our facilities to your liking. As to say it is the worst hotel in Panama is extremely outrageous. We are no Hilton just a simple small hotel on the waters edge owned and operated by a small family. You will find that our staff will go above and beyond to... More
