We tried to get Sunday lunch in a popular village pub which was fully booked for Sunday roasts etc so they put us onto this place, the Crown at Longtown. It worked out even better we are certain. Four roast beefs were ordered and promptly served all REALLY well cooked and presented - veg was done to a tee, slight...

Stayed here for one night and loved it. I had to change my booking last minute which Shiela accommodated without any hesitation and when I arrived I was greeted with a really warm welcome. The room had all that you would need and even fresh milk kept in a fridge in the hallway. The meal that night was to die...

We had a warm welcome from the very friendly landlady at this small pub in Longtown at the bottom of the Black Mountains. The rooms are simple and clean: ours had a nice view over the hillside. Excellent beer in the pub and the best steak pies we've had for ages: home-made and properly encase‎d with real pastry rather than...

I visited this pub on a Friday with two friends of mine looking forward to lunch out. We didn't get there until 2pm so I asked the barmaid if it was ok to order food. She replied sharply as long as you're out by 3pm and gave us a filthy look!! We ordered Beef Wellington and I asked if I...

We went to Clodock to the Cornewall Arms, but couldn't get food there so we drove a bit further and came across this little gem. I had a chicken and mushroom pie and my companion had the beef and onion pie. They were absolutely delicious, served with fresh carrots, peas and gravy and, of course, chips. There was no room...

We booked by email, but the staff hadn't read the emails - didn't matter as it wasn't busy. Got a table in the rear, where we were the only customers. We ordered child's fish fingers, two sandwiches, one wrap and a pie. Everything was as advertised - reasonable portion sizes, although the coronation chicken was too acidic. Staff very pleasant....

We are staying in Herefordshire at a lovely cottage and decided to go for a long circular drive in the area, taking in Arthur's Stone etc. Came across this pub almost by chance, and decided to give it a go for Sunday lunch. It was wonderful. Very tasty food, beautifully cooked and served, nice beer (The Otter Amber was perfect)...

In an area without many pubs, this is a reliable stop for staples including a large selection of pies but unfortunately not on Sundays when we visited - roasts instead). Reasonably priced and with decent beers, and welcomed walkers in too.

Me and Girlfriend stayed in the pub on the Friday night. The service was great and the food very good and great value. The room was nicely made and very clean. On the Saturday I had a large group (20+) come to the campsite and it was fantastic. Games, BBQ, Marquee and even a hot tub was made available so...
