If you want great home cooked food at a reasonable price this is the place. We have eaten here a few times since it changed hands and the new owners have got it right. You can eat in the conservatory restaurant or in the pub/bar area, the people are very friendly and accommodating. We like it very much and will...

Charlie and all his staff make you feel very welcome even the dog, the room was light airy, clean and had everything you needed and if it didn't you just told one of the staff. The food was excellent and cooked fresh, whether it was breakfast or dinner, would recommend to anyone.

My friend and I were really looking forward to lunch at the cherry tree since the change of hands. We were quite surprised to see how empty it was on a Friday the week before Christmas. The food was not bad although not inspiring but the wait for food was awful, especially as the place was quite empty. We waited...

We have just come from having an excellent meal. We ate in the conservatory room which was immaculate, usually when eating out the cutlery may have some marking due to dishwashing but am happy to say the cutlery was impressively clean. Yes they do serve pub grub but it was cooked to perfection. The background music was pleasant and the...

Lovely food, lots of choice, good sized portions. We had our meal in the bar area on a Monday evening and it was relaxing and cosy. Smell of open fire ☺️ Staff were friendly and efficient. I had steak and ale pie and it was a proper one - lots of meat! Would definitely go here again.

Sometimes in life you have to tell it like it is in the hope to save others from a REALLY BAD experience. Invited by friends for a pre Christmas lunch, therefore not in a position to get up, walk out giving them my address and instructing them to sue me for it. YES it was truly that bad! No Christmas...

This is under new management and the new owners are extremely pleasant and make you most welcome. Our room was excellent. It is situated at the side of the pub and has very well appointed furniture. En suite bath/shower and toilet all beautiful. Good for plane spotters too as flights to/from Southend airport go overhead but it's not noisy. Food...

Having had some very pleasant evenings at The Cherry Tree over many many years, we were sorry to see it shut down for a second time and delighted when it re-opened. We booked a table and looked forward to a nice Sunday lunch with friends. Oh dear.... How disappointing! Starters were fine except it was agreed that the whitebait was...

Very clean room with ensuite bathroom included a bath as well as an overhead shower situated behind the pub so it was peaceful. If I had a criticism I would have liked to have had a second cup of tea offered at breakfast or a pot of tea on the table. Overal good value for money given the price of...

Pub has now reopened again The pub looks good and they was quite a few diners. We managed to get a table of 5 on Sunday with no problems. The menu looked good, 2 courses for £12 or 3 courses for £14, there was quite a good choice on the menu. The food arrived quite quickly and the pate starter...
