After thinking I'd booked through Late Rooms, I called to confirm my booking, however it appeared that I didn't book at all. Ken went above and beyond to find an additional room for me, and provided clean, comfortable accommodation. The details were clearly relayed to us, and the breakfast had a fair selection. Thank-you to Ken for being so accommodating,... More

Although the rooms are basic and probably in need of a little updating, particularly the bathrooms (our shower tray was cracked!); our room was clean and comfortable, and there was plenty of local information for guests. The restaurant also is basic, but the breakfast we had was well worth the £7.50, excellent value for money. The staff were very accommodating... More

My wife and I stayed for one night. We booked on line, on the day of our arrival we received a very nice text informing us of our room number. Checking in was fine. Parking is available on site. The location is nice. Our room was absolutely spotlessly clean. Plenty of nice towels, bathroom was well decorated and spotlessly clean.... More

We stayed at the lodge during the weekend of V festival to avoid the camping and felt like it was a home away from home. We stayed in the luxury rooms and they were very spacious with a large double and extremely comfortable bed. Anna was very helpful prior to the visit with helping us arrange breakfasts as well as... Enjoyed a two night stay here while in town for a wedding. Accommodation was very nice, staff were friendly and the breakfast cooked by Anna was scrumptious. There's free wifi in the rooms, towels were replaced daily and the shower was nice and hot! Can't complain really.. an ideal place to stay in the Maldon area.

Fantastic stay - very accommodating couple. From the booking to checking out. We booked with Anna over the phone and she explained everything in detail and helped us with cab numbers as we were attending a party not too far away. Pretty surroundings of farmland and few local houses. Anna offered us early check in which we did intend on... More

We stayed here for 1 night when we attended a wedding at Althorne. This is a lovely guesthouse. Anna was very helpful & when I explained that we were attending a wedding, agreed to have the room ready early. Unfortunately we ended up being late, but Anna was very pleasant when we arrived & even contacted us to see what... More

A nice clean little place, our party had 4 double rooms , two standard and two superior. The rooms were all spacious wth good ensuites and comfortable beds. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We didn't eat here so I can't comment on the food, but I would happily stay here again if in the area.

Only stayed for one night, and because of commitments we did not stay for the breakfast (maybe next time!!). We were met by a lovely very helpful young lady, and were given the key to Room 3, which is a double standard room. It is exceptionally clean, and well stocked. Very surprised at the level of attention to detail in... More
