We had perfect 2 weeks at the Zuri Hotel. The sustainable hotel concept combined with the design of the restaurants, rooms and the beautiful beach offer a unique experience. The hotel with the spice garden, the spacious hotel area and the friendly service of the team (Thanks to Shomary, Emmanuel, Yuma, Jackaline, Benezeck, Cosma, Richard) will be an unforgettable memory for us. We especially enjoyed the quality of the food and drinks (big menu and variation) and the spacious beach area with comfortable beds. Plus the cleanliness of the resort and the spacious garden with 2 monkey. Thanks to the Zuri team for our great vacation.
I spent 7 magical nights at Zuri and loved every second. The private beach and lush gardens are breathtakingly beautiful and I spent most of my days relaxing under the palm trees, sipping coconuts and cocktails from their extensive bar menu. This is the part of the island where you want to be for picturesque beaches. The resort boasts 3 restaurants so you will not run out of food options and every night they have entertainment on the beach. If you want to venture out, you can take a 15min walk to many restaurants and bars. Every staff member I encountered was delightful and eager to help. My room was luxurious and spacious. I would highly recommend a visit. The staff was very hospitable and every staff member I encountered were delightful and eager to help.
Zuri is a uniquely, special place. Arriving via the road, some big wooden gates open and you drive in to pure tranquility. Welcomed with a delicious drink and friendly member of the team. We never wanted for anything and had a truly magical time. The food is great- I would recommend booking the a la carte restaurant for a few nights during your stay. The beach is private, with security guards at all time, meaning you are away from the constant beach hawkers, that unfortunately do take over the rest of the public beach. The spa is lovely, I had a massage which I truly enjoyed. Would highly recommend the complimentary spice tour, this was far more than we expected- great fun and extremely insightful. As I have read through the reviews on here, what I really like, is that I can see how zuri has listened and taken things on board. For example, complimentary ear plugs. A suggestion from ourselves- Could more of the yoga/meditation sessions be complimentary? Or at least at a reduced price? The price did seem very steep, similar to what you’d pay for a boutique class in london. I understand that the quality is probably up there, it’s just paying that price when you’ve already spent a considerable amount on staying at the hotel is a little off putting. I do really think this would encourage more people to join. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay Xx…
I could not have asked for a better place to stay on Zanzibar! The overwater sunsets are a must! Between the DJ and live music you can enjoy your Sundowners with, you will not go wrong! And lets not forget the Fire dancer. Everything was just absolutely breathtaking! The accommodations are absolutely fabulous! If you are looking to go somewhere to relax and maybe do an activity here or there, Zuri was amazing! And the food was outstanding! Will definitely be back!!
A seriously top hotel which features in my top 3 all time stays (I’m 61 and seen a few in my time). It offers everything to everybody in a truly stunning environment; newly weds to family’s to “oldies” like my wife and I. We stayed in a double bedded villa in Cinnamon area which was in easy reach of everything. We took full board which by my reckoning was worth it due to a) no point in venturing outside hotel grounds b) the 3 restaurant options c) quality of food! d) you always feel hungry here. Staff were the most friendly we have interacted with; special shout outs to Mickel and Jaqualine. Beachside sundowners a must with entertainment and fire alongside other folks.
Every detail in this hotel is thought trough! Luxurious, yet cool and artistic. Architects and interiour designers have really done a good job which is reflected in the whole resort. Very friendly and helpful staff with a personal touch! The beautiful bungalows "have it all", as do the perfect beach. Outstanding food - we really recommend the cooking class! Make sure to participate in the yoga classes :) Boat trip with snorkling is a nice experience.
We just returned from 5 glorious days at Zuri Zanzibar. The property is beautiful —casual chic, comfortable bungalows with a gorgeous white sand beach (and beautiful pool). There are multiple restaurants and bars, all with excellent food and an terrific spa. Most importantly, every member of the staff is warm, gracious, hospitable. This is probably the best place I’ve ever visited—I will dream of watching the Zanzibar sunset from the Zuri beach, drink in hand. Heaven!
This hotel is beautiful and has fantastic architecture. I have never been to a hotel so beautiful. It does not have a lot of entertainment, but if you want a relaxing holiday this is really the place to be. Service is 5*! I do not have much to add to all other reviews, maybe just a tip to do the spice tour, which is free! I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun it was and how much I learned.
This is a lovely hotel set in beautiful grounds. All the rooms are splendid with terraces and outside showers. The beach is great with plenty of room and comfortable sunbeds. Every single member of staff was attentive and friendly. Both main restaurants are good and the lunch menu at the beach bar was surprisingly good based on experiences elsewhere. One way of really judging a hotel and its people is when things go wrong. We had arrived from Kenya and unfortunately I had contracted typhoid there. Symptoms manifested at the early part of our stay. The staff swiftly took me to the local hospital where I was well cared for. Anjq, the incredibly helpful and businesslike General Manager, went out of her way to support my partner, travel to the hospital, arranged for (medically recommended) food, a change of sheets and some shower gel! She also acted as a useful go-between for me and the medical staff.…
We enjoyed a fantastic week long stay at Zuri in a garden bungalow . The bungalow was set in a beautiful tropical garden and had everything we needed for our relaxing beech stay after a busy week on safari. The beech with its beautiful white sand , palm trees and turquoise sea was idyllic . All the staff in all the bars and restaurants were friendly and catered to all of our needs. The food was varied and plentiful and we would highly recommend Zuri for a stay in Zanzibar
