We came into Mahia late afternoon just as the office was closing up. We were made welcome and directed to a nice spot. There are no beach views but the location is right across from the beach. The climb up the bluff the next morning gives stunning views but can be slippery.

One of the iconic beaches in the country but a sad selection of old motel rooms, possibly restricted by building bylaws but the time has well passed for a knock down and move into modern times, a location of this quality needs accommodation too match Very pleasant host and what I would imagine is a very popular camping ground but...

Very expensive for a cabin. Kitchen cabin was $174 for five adults sleeping in basically one room really as dividing wall for bunk room is not even to ceiling. There is no width between the two bunk sets either 250mm approx. Fridge stunk of fish too. Very musty and grotty. It was kitchen cabin which meant the door at the...

I was really skeptical booking in this holiday park due to the "lack" of and unflattering photos for the property as that and reviews go hand in hand. But I must say after arriving and seeing it's location, the lay out of the property and the amenities it offers I was quite pleased! For starters, if you're after a "holiday...

We only stayed here one night in our caravan on our way back from BOP and East Cape. I'd stayed here as a kid 25-30 years ago and had fairly fond memories but not much has changed except the trees and bushes have grown, pretty sure the building are still the same. Also sure Dad wouldn't have paid $84 a...

Stayed one night on an unpowered site in a camper van, way in the back next to the bathrooms/shower. It was the day before New Year's Eve. We're early 40's and no children, like to have a good time, but when I checked in the reservation lady was scolding a teenager saying it was her last warning to stay there,...

Wonderful view of the beach and sea from the upstairs balcony of the 2 bedroom motel unit. We could only visit from Napier for one night, but absolutely loved it and will be back for 3 or 4 nights in Feb. Other reviewers on here are complaining about water pressure, but with that beautiful, safe swimming beach across the road,...

Original 60s style site for your motorhome stay. Pluses were the friendly hostess, pleasant and peaceful site and interesting landscape around the area. The camp kitchen was a little worn out and there were no lights on at night to find our way to the toilet block. Watch out for goats on the road as you drive into Mahia.

Stayed a couple of nights in one of the seaview motel units. Well set up units - 2 bedrooms plus an extra bed in the lounge. Well equipped kitchen with everything we needed for a couple of nights. The bathroom was quite small but adequate. We enjoyed our time in Mahia, a little piece of relaxed old world NZ. Now,...

We had stayed here a year ago and although we thought it very basic, loved the location so decided to visit again. Won't make that mistake next time! Bathrooms not cleaned regularly or properly, strong smell of urine in men's toilets. Washing machines not working efficiently and clothes lines broken. Trees need pruning, grass needed mowing and a general feeling...
