I visited this Band B in April 2015. It was basic but clean. There was no shower in my room only a shower. Great if you have just hiked several miles but I had just arrived by car to start my walk and would have liked a shower in the morning. We had a meal here in the evening and... More

We stayed here after attempting the 3 peaks challenge. I would say the term hotel is a bit grand for what it is, the rooms are basic no frill but have everything you need. The bar is welcoming and the staff are friendly. The food was excellent, all home made using fresh ingredients and served in a reasonable time. Given... More

Had some pre stay anxiety about this place before I arrived based on reviews. They couldn't have been more misleading! I stayed for two nights with a few colleagues, it was our lace to start the 3 peaks challenge. The welcoming staff were very friendly, this is a quaint 'little' pub with a nice selection of drinks and very good... More

Stayed here for the 2015 3 Peaks Race weekend. The hotel rooms are very basic and other reviews have summed up the bad points about them. Our rooms was above the bar which was quite noisy until around midnight both nights we stayed. I think the hotel must hold the world record for the most "do not do this and... More

My husband and myself had a meal on sunday 19th April 2015 and it was excellent. I always find it difficult to eat out as I have so many allergies it can be very difficult. They were more than obliging to my needs, as well as pleasant and helpful. I would definately recommend it to friends and will be eating... More

We hired a cottage for a week in Horton along with our friends. We had 3 dogs between us. On the first day we took a walk in the village and visited the Crown Hotel. The beer garden was closed and we were told in no uncertain terms that they didn't allow dogs anywhere on the premises. We had a... More

My friends and I had an evening Meal at the crown and it was a little lacklustre. OK, so not all pub-grub should be all singing and dancing, it is what it is, but a pub that serves “Home cooked” food definitely disappoints when accompanied by oven chips! I mean, how hard is it to peel a potato really? As... More

I have to admit, I was a bit wary having read some of the reviews (not even asked if they wanted a sweet! Shock horror!). The missus and I were pleasantly surprised with our stay here. The room was clean, warm and comfortable and the food, both dinner and brekkie were delicious. Having read the negative reviews regarding the lack... More

We stopped at the Crown Hotel on the way up to the Lake District to break up a long drive and I can say I'm very pleased we did. The owners were incredibly helpful and the accommodation was cozy and good value for what we paid. The food and drink here were exceptional and although the pub was busy with... More

Called in for dinner, the food was good, very good portion sizes, and the waitress was very friendly. The menu whilst limited was good quality, as was the drinks menu. Price wise, this place offered good value for money.
