When we arrived the reception was empty. There was not even a welcome drink in the room. The cleanliness of the hotel in general and the room in particular left a lot to be desired. Nothing you would expect from a 5 star hotel. The room was horribly decorated. The rug under the bed was completely crooked, and a wooden lamp that almost pierced my eyes twice. Over the bed there was a button that said do not disturb with a night light so bright it was impossible to sleep well. The bedroom furniture was old and chipped. The bathtub had one of the faucets broken. The hotstone massage was one of the worst ever. Impossible to relax when the masseuse tries to make conversation and makes so much noise with the stones that it is impossible to relax even 1 min. The pool was okay. The rest of the SPA we did not try.We booked dinner at reception but when we arrived at the restaurant there was no reservation. The rest was across the street from the hotel, very uncomfortable having to go out to dinner in another building, especially on a cold and rainy day. But the worst was yet to come. We asked if it would be possible to make a bowl of rice or pasta for our 3 year old daughter but they refused. What restaurant, much more than 5 stars, refuses to make a simple rice for a child? Neither the poorest restaurant nor a 3 star hotel. Then we ordered fondue for two. When the waitress brought us the food came a plate with 5 small pieces of grilled meat and a tiny bowl of fries. When we said that it was not what we had ordered, but the fondue, they told us that the restaurant no longer made fondue. But then why was it on the menu? Why didn't the employee who served us the first time inform us that there was no fondue? As the dish that came was very little food for 2 adults and 1 child, we ordered another steak. Waiting another 30 min. When the waitress came with the plate, she dumped the fries all over the floor. We had to wait a little longer for the fries. The steak was good but for 30€ you expected a little more than 5 tiny strips of meat and a small bowl of pre-fried supermarket potatoes. Needless to say, our 3 year old daughter ate very poorly.Definitely untrained and very unfriendly staff.Breakfast was mediocre for a 5 star hotel. Breakfast at the level of a 2 star pension. 5 star hotel has absolutely nothing. At most 3 stars and already very forced. In the end they wanted to charge us 15€ for the car park when the reservation we made on booking.com said that the car park was free. As we complained about the bad service they did, they decided to withdraw the 15€ from the final bill and the two tonic waters we drank for dinner. Hotel not recommendable at all.

We arrived and the receptionist was not there (which would be ok if they didn't sell themselves as a 5 starts hotel). The room was definitively not a 5 stars hotel, decent size but not well decorated with furniture arranged badly. We slept with a service light over our heads that couldn't be turned off (ironically enough the light to indicate "do not disturb") nor cover it. No welcome drinks or anything fancy but a small package of stroopwaffels (again would be fine but not for a 5 stars hotel). We wanted to book a massage for the next day and the receptionist told us that is another department and that we should send an email (not the level of service you expect from a 5 stars Restaurant and SPA Hotel), so no massage. By the way, we had to check out by 11 am of the next day and we were not allowed for SPA services after that. We included breakfast and the breakfast room was outside the hotel, that should have been reached by going outside the parking and you couldn't go with the bathrobe (as we were told by the receptionist)...again you sure you are also a SPA? We went to the SPA, all massage rooms empty and the rest fully occupied. The sauna rooms are outside and you have to go through some kind of hospital dark corridors to be outside. These rooms allow for 2 people, 1 was full and the other one didn't work. The view of the lake is actually a dark small puddle with the parking and the highways beyond. Eventully we didn't use any SPA facility. Cherry on top is 15 euro of parking. 5 stars hotel seriously? If it was a barely 3 stars I would have been ok.

Normally I stay here for a veterinary medicine Congress by myself but this time I took the family along. Always a pleasure. The hotel is well located and has got a beautiful spa. Even for kids the hotel is ideal.

I tested today the Spa for a pedicure...which was not a pedicure but a cosmetic pedicure! I was surprised to enter the area where you have the small swimming pool with my city shoes, you have as a next Step to be again outside to finally arrive to a kind of small garden house where you don t have anything to hang your coat.I found the hygiene really poor and will never go again. The only compliment goes to the esthetician who was very nice.I would not recommend it, expensive, normal price almost 50 euros for having your nails polished and coloured..and a bit of massage.Surprise as well to don t have feet cleaned before ...which is a basic. To access the toilet...only one in the changing room, so small as well and not that clean!this is the worse experience I could have .For an hotel with this number of stars this is just unacceptable.

This is a lovely Hotel with a touch of class and friendly staff. I stayed for two nights in the standard room which was spacious an excellent. The bed was huge and comfortable and loved the TV at the bottom of it. There are many lighting options in the room and a touch panel to request room cleaning or mark as do not disturb. The bathroom has a very large bath, underfloor heating, a rain shower and a hand shower. The breakfast was very good with hot options being cooked to order. Juice range could have been a bit better but there was good variety there. You able to buy tram tickets fro reception to visit the city centre which is handy, there are a few restaurants within 20 minutes walking distance but nothing in the immediate area but it's about 20 minutes to the centre on the tram, the tram stop is about 5 minutes walk. There is an extensive mini bar in the room, prices are at the higher end but not too crazy. The wifi in the room worked pretty well though sitting by the window the signal was a bit hit and miss. There were some little complimentary "real wine gums" which were very nice, the lady at reception came to check on me in the evening and gave me another box with these in. Would definitely stay if I was in the area again.

Recommended. Room was lovely, staff great and the restaurant cooked lovely food. The steak and red wine served were lovely. The after dinner cheese was fantastic! Didn't have time to use the pool and gym unfortunately.

I don't write reviews very often, but after coming back from a spa weekend at Hotel & Spa Savarin with a girlfriend, I absolutely had to write a review to talk about my amazing experience. I've stayed in many expensive, luxurious hotels, and most of the time I leave feeling a bit disappointed with the experience, but Hotel Savarin absolutely exceeded my expectations. From the warm, friendly receptionists, to the impeccably outfitted room, the absolutely top notch gym and wonderful spa facilities, I had an unforgettable experience. The wonderful staff of Hotel Savarin went above and beyond to make my entire vacation perfection. Everytime you think the experience can't get any better, the hotel's thoughtful little touches just brighten up your day. It is clear that everyone, managment and staff alike make customer service a top priority! I would most definitely be back! The only downside is the property is a bit difficult to get to/get around without a car, so bring one ;) And the hot tub/jaccuzi could be much hotter. But aside from that, I enjoyed the whole experience thoroughly!

Dear sir/madam, Thank you for taking the time to write this review about us. We really appreciate the effort you took to let us and other travellers know about your experience with our hotel. I'm going to take a look at the hottub settings to see if we can turn up the temperature a bit more, so it'll be more enjoyable during a next stay. We hope to be welcoming you back to our hotel in the future. With kind regards, Bart van der Mark

Good quality hotel. Big, nice rooms, - more than needed for a short night sleep. Did not use the spa, restaurant or other options. Breakfast in the restaurant just outside the hotel, was excellent with possibilities to order omelets, pancakes, etc. from the menu.
