I organised a get-together for friends and family from as far away as Golden Bay, the West Coast and Mid-Canterbury, we met at Castle Hill and did the walks, took the obligatory photos and marvelled in the scenery, then headed back for lunch at Flockhill Lodge, from the time we arrived we were made feel welcome, the lunch was substantial...

We didn't have a clue what we would find when we booked this place as a stopover on our trip to Arthur's Pass. What a treat it was. Individual cottages set on what was originally a sheep shearing station. The grounds were lovely, the food very good and the bed was magnificent - definitely the most comfortable we have found...

Stayed here for one night in November during our 6 1/2 week holiday in New Zealand, wish we had stayed longer, lovely location with very good facilities, we ate in the restaurant during our stay and the food was most enjoyable. Visited again to find that nothing has really changed in this gem of a high country station.Same high-quality standards of service, cleanliness and ambience.Enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant. The garden and grounds are still maintained to an excellent standard. This is exceptional value for money and truly relaxing in an amazing setting.

It was on dark and a huge storm was brewing. Flock Hill was a most welcome sight and even with no booking, our reception and accommodation was brilliant. There was a friendly check in that got us quickly settled and out of the raging storm. Fantastic.

We loved this place so much. We stayed in a two-bedroom cottage which has everything you might need. It is impeccably clean, very spacious, equipped, and comfortable. The setting is gorgeous--we loved the red buildings amongst the dark green trees and mountains. Very quintessential high country. The view from on top of the Knoll is breathtaking, and the proximity to...

Our party of 3 stayed in one of the cottages. What a delight! Full kitchen, living room, two bedrooms, 1 large bath with heated towel racks (new to us from the US), and a lovely patio overlooking the lily pond and gardens. Close to Castle Hill, Pearson Lake, The Knoll on their property and Arthur's Pass. They can arrange various...

My daughters booked a horse ride and stay in the bunk rooms for a mid week stay, before one returned to the UK with her fiance, and the other back to Auckland, after staying with us over Christmas. They spent a while packing for their self catering stay, preping food, sleeping bags etc etc, and loading up the car. The...

Loved my stay at flock hill and would definitely recommend to others. I stayed in the shearers quarters. Beds were comfy, rooms very clean and showers brilliant. The staff were super helpful supporting me during the uncertainty I encountered due to my luggage having been delayed during my international flight.
