Rayavadee has earned a reputation as a luxurious retreat, with travelers raving about its diverse amenities, exceptional dining, and attentive service. The Deluxe Pavilion rooms, in particular, receive high marks for their spaciousness and comfort. While the hotel's location offers stunning scenery and local wildlife encounters, some guests feel the decor is a touch dated.
Cleanliness is a standout feature, with spotless rooms and well-kept grounds. Although most guests believe the value is exceptional, a few note the prices can be steep.

Detailed Reviews
Such a unique amazing stay for a special occasion. The hotel is located in a remote location between several beaches including the famous Railay beach, surrounded by high cliffs, jungle and wildlife.
Arrival is by the hotel's own boat transfer and you are greeted straight into the reception area and given a personal orientation of the resort.
The rooms are private two-story villas with a living space on the ground and bedroom upstairs. Our villa had a private pool and outdoor garden area which is highly recommended. You will definitely see wildlife throughout the hotel, we had monkeys jumping around on top of the roof and trees above us whilst in the pool.
There are four restaurants, we ate one night in the famous Grotto - located on the beach in a cave overlooking the beach at sunset which was fantastic. Another night we opted to have dinner in our room, the menu is great - far more extensive than a usual paired back room service menu. The waited even made up the table outside our room so it was like a private outdoor dinner.
Highly recommended.

Rayavadee’s Resort is a legend of Krabi province , the location is very good as it is among 3 bays Nammow where we get of from the boat that they pick up us from the port in the cities, Pranang and Railey . You can do many activities according too their schedule , hiking to view point , bat cave , rock climbing, kajak etc .
The room has great maintenance , the service is excellent , however the taste of food has to improved nevertheless at Grotto you could not find such a fabulous view in front of you while the table set inside the cave.
If your guy has Covid vaccinated then we welcome you back to Thailand to stay in beautiful nature land of smile

We spent 6 nights including New Year’s Eve.
The hotel is situated in a place which may be accessed only by private boats.
There are 3 beaches around, views are great but water is not so clear.
We took a standard bungalow which was very comfortable, clean but a bit outdated. All bungalows are situated in a unique tropical garden, monkeys jumping around on trees and large monitor lizzards walking around.
Food in the hotel is good quality but extremly expensive. There are plenty of restaurants near the hotel on public beaches much less expensive but be carefull, you may have some stomach problems.
Staff of the hotel is kind but on depart we were misleaded by reception staff, we were moving to Phi Phi islnds by ferry and they told us wrong time of departure and wrong place. They said that the ferry departs from a pier while it was leacing from Railey Beach. We were walking around for 30 minutes in melting sun looking for a ferry and our luggage which was taken by the hotel staff somwhere... Finaly we found our way to the ferry just to find out that it was leaving one hour later than we were told by hotel staff.
So in general it is good hotel but be careful don’t trust in information provided by its staff, double check yourself.

Dear RainyDay2017, Thank you very much for your review of your recent stay with us. We truly appreciate the time you took to share your experience with others. Thank you as well for sharing your thoughts on the quality of the food and beverage on offer in the resort versus what one can have at the local restaurants nearby. Of course, as you mentioned, there is a price difference, but we also believe that the value we offer in comparing the quality of the ingredients used, the service, the overall setting, ambiance and the hygiene standards, far outweighs the difference in the pricing. We are sorry if you felt you were misinformed with regards to the departure time and location of the ferry to Phi Phi. Please bear in mind, this ferry is operated by a company and we have no control over them if they decide to leave from a different beach or at a different time due to weather or sea conditions. We can only give out the information that we know and if the ferry decides to change at a moments notice, it is not the fault of the hotel. We would like to thank you once again for visiting us and we hope to have the chance to welcome you back in the near future. Kind regards, Susan Young Duty Manager Rayavadee Resort, Krabi

As a potential option in the future next Christmas we decided to have dinner one evening at the main restaurant. The setting and service was exceptional as you'd expect at a luxury resort, obviously we can only comment on this and not the other facilities which I am sure are great. We quickly left before our main meals arrived due to their being rats inside the building above our heads. I appreciate the location and this may be a one off but inside a resort that's charging probably on average over £500 a night and between £25-£60 for a main course I think it is unacceptable. Probably worth taking into consideration though...

Dear David R, Thank you for posting your feedback. We are very disappointed with the content of your review which is not an accurate reflection of what actually happened. You were not staying at the Resort, but chose to dine in one of our Restaurants as a non-resident guest. Please understand, our Resort is set amongst 26 acres of forest and jungle. There are numerous wildlife that inhabit our Resort e.g. squirrels, monkeys, monitor lizards, birds, etc. After investigation with our F&B staff they mentioned that a squirrel had sneaked into the Restaurant when the door was open and ran along the perimeter of the Restaurant. Of course it happened very quickly and because it was a small rodent running around you thought you saw something else. You and your partner immediately got up and ran out the Restaurant having pre-ordered your food. You did not give the Restaurant staff a chance to explain or wait for the squirrel to be let out. This situation is very rare and all the other in-house guests dining at the time, did not even mind. The squirrel ran out as soon as the door was opened. Your sincerely, Susan Young Duty Manager Rayavadee Resort, Krabi

Rayavadee is exceptional. I just don’t think there is any other way to describe the experience from the location, the accommodations, the food and choice of dining options and, not in the least, the incredible staff who have made each of my visits (fourth time and counting) so enjoyable. It was great to return there in January after an absence of two years and a pandemic in between! The beaches around the resort are vastly improved – cleaner, fewer long boats and the water quality is exceptional. The hotel did not disappoint with the Deluxe bungalow we stayed in – super comfortable and equipped with everything that you might need. The food in all of the restaurants is excellent – in particular The Grotto which is vastly improved and much more accessible during your stay. Refurbishments during Covid have paid off but the biggest reward must be the staff. The staff are so gracious and accommodating, friendly, helpful and warm. These are the things that make this hotel exceptional and one which will make you want to return, as I have done, time and time again. I could not finish this review without including my special thanks to Nisa (Yui), Lek, Varee, Bee, Ae, Pong, Supanee, Khun Prasert, Ray, Bong and Pithak for taking the time to offer their friendship and generosity during our stay. We were made to feel so welcome – like family or returning to visit old friends. Exceptional.

This hotel is probably one of the best we have stayed in, and we have been in a few! From the time we were met at Krabi airport to the time we left a week later the staff could not do enough for us. Attention to detail is exceptional. Nok who did our registration knew us by name two days later when we saw her. We were in a garden pavilion. Not knowing what to expect we were delighted to be shown into our two storey abode. A huge sitting area downstairs with tea and coffee making facilities, mini bar and fresh fruit ( topped up everyday). There was even a complimentary bottle of prosecco. The spacious bedroom and bathroom upstairs were lovely, cool in the day and well supplied with towels and soaps.
We were on a B&B deal. Breakfast was excellent with a range of the normal international food offerings but this was supplemented by a huge range of local Thai dishes all cooked to order. All were excellent. We were also able to have afternoon tea on a number of afternoons and again this was delicious. We did eat one night in the Thai restaurant, again excellent food and good value. We ate out locally on other nights. Much cheaper and more authentic.
The staff were amazing, attentive but not intrusive. The pool area is well supplied with sunbeds and towels with a regular top up of water and snacks throughout the day.
We did not take any hotel excursions, they are quite pricey, bit there are plenty of local walks and places to visit without going too far.
My one criticism is the cost of drinks, beer on site is in excess of 155 bhat (about £5.50) the same beer in the local shop is 60 bhat (£2).
We moved from the Rayavadee to Khao Lak. The transfer was easy and the hotel driver was excellent. We will return

The idea of having a wedding in Thailand was only possible if I found someone I could really trust - If you search for Rayavadee or the Grotto on social media, the images are all consistent with that on the website and is 100% true to form!
Even now after some time, our friends and family praise how beautiful our wedding was. We are always reminded about how amazing the food was and the fire show!
A massive thank you to Khun Pin for planning the most amazing wedding one can ever hope to have! Pin was extremely professional. She was supportive when changing our minds, open to ideas, transparent about costs and we genuinely could feel her pride and happiness to be part of our special day.
I'd also like to make a special note about Luna. What a gem! She greeted us upon check in and it was likely being welcomed by a family member. Their commitment levels to making sure we had an amazing stay was high, they both offered us their whatsapp information so we could make contact at any time. We tried not to bother them but Luna was always the first message I received with a "Good morning, how are you today?" It was lovely!
All of our 20 guests have been keeping an eye on holiday dates to return and so have we! It was so sad to leave and we cannot wait to come back and celebrate our wedding anniversary in future.
Definitely recommend Rayavadee for luxury and their service !

A lot has been written about Rayavadee, some inaccurate or now out of date. After 12 nights there on full board, we got the full Rayavadee experience, good or otherwise.
The Deluxe pavilions are extremely comfortable and well maintained. We slept incredibly well and the efficient air conditioning kept the mosquitoes at bay. The grounds are stunning and well maintained.
The staff are absolutely charming and the service is superlative. Special mention to Issy and Bota in the Grotto who really went out of their way to look after us.
The Hotel’s excursions on their own private speed boats are excellent. We joined one group trip and had two private trips.. they were a highlight of the trip and an opportunity to escape the crowds that invade Railay and Phranang beaches every day. You also get your own private guide (ours, Suyan, was excellent). They are expensive but worth it.
The area for urgent improvement is the food. We have enjoyed excellent cuisine on previous trips to the Maldives and this was, by comparison, quite disappointing. Most guests we spoke to felt they had a reduced appetite in the heat, but portions here, whether starters or main courses, were usually too big, and not particularly tasty. If you are not a fan of thai food, you will get stuck very quickly... you will have eat at the hotel’s ”signature” Raya restaurant, which is like a graveyard every night.. that to me speaks volumes of what the guests think of the current menu and the quality of the food in there. The daily lunches at the Grotto were excellent, but for the evening BBQ there, you are presented with one overwhelmingly massive plate of mediocre food. Railay Terrace was hit and miss, but Krua Phranang, for thai food only, is better.
The good news is that a new executive chef has just arrived, Nikolas, and the special event and food he laid on for valentine’s night was excellent.. hopefully he can soon fix the other menus / cooking, and it would then deserve a five star rating.
One tip: don’t hold back from asking for certain ingredients to be removed or others to be added.. for instance, we wanted a chicken green thai curry, but they only had a vegetarian one.. they were quite happy to change that for us. This flexibility enabled us to bespoke the meals to suit us over our stay.

Dear Roger W, Thank you very much for your detailed review on Tripadvisor. We are delighted to read that overall you enjoyed your stay with us, especially the comfortable accommodation, the well maintained grounds surrounded by the stunning scenery, as well as the charming staff and excellent service. We are glad to hear you experienced a few of our excursions and that you enjoyed your trips out. We further wish to thank you for your feedback in regarding to your culinary experiences and apologize that they did not reach your expectations. I can assure you that our new Executive Chef has noted your comments and valuable feedback. However, may I mention that Raya Dining restaurant is not so popular due to it's location and has nothing to do with the quality and menu there. It's just that our other three restaurants are more popular due to they are on a beach setting and overlook the Andaman Sea.. I am delighted to hear that the restaurants catered for your "off menu" requests. We do try to accommodate all guests requests and most dishes can be altered due to guests preference. Once again we thank you for writing your review and we hope you will come back again in the future. Kind regards, Susan Young Duty Manager Rayavadee Resort, Krabi

You arrive at the pier and are whisked away by speedboat to a relaxing space. You are given a great welcome by the team and feel a very special personal service.
We did get lost locating our room a few times; the accommodation was simple set over two floors with plenty of space and a well appointed bathroom. You’re never short of tea, cookies or other items.
It was awesome to see monkeys and enjoy the surroundings. We visited during Coronavirus so the resort was exceptionally quiet.
The pool area was comfortable with nice treats such as ice lollies etc. The drinks service could have been more proactive.
There was a great selection of restaurants all attended by super friendly staff.
I’d definitely return

It happens not often that a hotel offers anything that you dream of. So, there is not much we can write, since everything was just perfect: Service. transportation, room, room service, Pool, Food, Wellness, etc. What we want to additionally mention is that there was always many bottles of water in our room what is not usual, also not for luxury hotels. You realize that the hotel is now perfectionated its services for many years.
The hotel is situated in a huge tropical garden, beachfront with all three beaches in Railay and the only one at Phra Nang Beach what is one of the most beautiful beaches on world. We come since many years to Railay for climbing and kayaking. This was the first time in Rayavadee. Before we were in Princess Resort, Avatar, Sand & Sea Resort and Railay Village. Yes, Rayavadee is expensive for Thailand and there are also other really good hotels that are much cheaper. However, if you go to Railay and can afford the rooms in Rayavadee, go there; this is a must do.

No idea
Rainy season is over at the end of October. We just had a few sprinkles the days we were there but otherwise everything was perfect.
It is very expensive, I don’t think there is other way to get to the pier from Rayavadee, unless you go walking.
