We just came back from the most relaxing and wonderful weekend at Mount Ceder! We stayed in Klipbokkop which is the largest cottage, at the top of the valley with magnificent views! It also has a hot tub. The cottage is basic, but has modern bathrooms and appliances in the kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped also. The cottage has...

Stayed for two nights in this wonderful spot. Away from everything, with wonderful views and lots of stars. We stayed in the most basic house, which was more luxurious than lots of places I've seen. No electricity outlets but hit shower, fridge, fire place and braai area. Staff was also great. We forgot to stock up on goods when we...

Rented the Melkbos house for an extended weekend. 1. The house - fridge and led lights are run off solar power, gas stove and shower, well equipped kitchen. Everything is very clean and the beds very comfy. The house is very well maintained. Each house is far enough away that you don't see or hear other guests. 2. The view...

This review is long overdue. We stayed at Mount Cedar for 4 nights in Dec 2015. Upon booking, the only accommodation available was the self-catering "rustic" cottages. We stayed in Melkbos, which was very private (1km away from the main reception & restaurant) and isolated (another similar cottage about 100m away, but otherwise nothing else). To be honest, the cottage...

Drove overland from Sutherland to stay here, what a beautiful setting. So peaceful and serene . Our cottage had its own Jacuzzi on the stoop ,so hot and relaxing. The first night we had a braai ( bbq if from UK ) and of course no driving so we also had a few drinks. The main office provided our meat and salad...

Fabulous accommodation at Mount Cedar Cottages, and just the most incredible surroundings. waterfalls, walks, mountains, clear nights spent lying on the lawns looking up at so very many stars, mountain streams and rivers to swim in, and miles away from the nearest city. Just a truly incredible place to visit. I hope to be back one day.

What an incredible piece of the world to visit, and the Mount Ceder guest cottages make ones visit all the more amazing. The accommodation is excellent quality, comfortable, great linen etc, and the surroundings just gorgeous. The cottages are widely spaced so truly private and tranquil. There is a beautiful river to swim in, walks to waterfalls and mountain streams,...

Not reading the fine print resulted in booking worse accommodation in a decade. Mount Ceder's sign board and advertisements flags a 4 star establishment. We booked a unit suitable for 2. However it was so basic, no plugs to charge a cell phone. No fans for cooling, it was very hot and too uncomfortable inside. Flies attacking one. Not able...

Mount Ceder is a gem that you find nestled in the mountain range of the Cederberg with its incredible rock formations and bushman paintings, and is approached from a long and often dusty drive on an easily driven dirt road, through some the most spectacular wilderness you will ever see. As you approach it is very welcoming with olive groves...

We bought a voucher for a 2 nights stay at Mount Ceder, from the annual Vista Nova School auction, which had generously been donated by this property to raise much needed funds for special needs children. A lovely, and vast property with cottages set well apart from each other - even the camp sites were very private, and not right...
