Didn't get to stay there, merely enjoyed a lovely meal in their beautiful gardens. Well worth taking 2 mins off the beaten track for a pit stop. Highly recommend the oxtail or curry. A real piece of South African history sight as well.

We stayed over at the Green lantern inn on the way to the coast. A nice, old Inn with a old school silent movie cinema and full bar. Very warm and friendly. The rooms are minimalist and clean. The outside dining area overlooks a beautiful, well maintained garden.

What a lovely stop we had on our way back from the coast. From the street, Green Lantern Inn doesn't look like much, but what a lovely surprise once you walk in! They have loads of space, a beautiful garden with a nice children's play area. The oxtail is delicious! Definitely worth a visit. The food is good value for...

What a wonderful stop over on the way back to Ballito. Does not look to good from the outside but a truly warm and friendly welcome once you step inside. great bar with stacks of history and of course great service. The restaurant food was really good as was the breakfast. Rooms are comfortable and cater for chilly nights with...

When we stopped outside the Green Lantern, we were a taddy taken back and thought that it looked questionable. However once we stepped inside, what a pleasant surprise - we stepped into another world. It is absolutely lovely, quaint, spotlessly clean and wonderful hospitality from everyone. Lovely atmosphere. Ample place to sit and relax in the beautifully kept garden. A...

On our way back from Ballito to Johannesburg we decided to meander a bit and stay over one night. We chose the Green Lantern Inn and spent a lovely afternoon and evening there. We watched silent movies in the lounge, played table tennis, saw the donkey in the bar and enjoyed a nice dinner. The room was lovely - so...

For me, a perfect stopover on the journey from Johannesburg to Durban. I received a very warm welcome from the friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is full of character and interest, with a history going back to the Boer War and before. It is set in a beautiful garden, designed in the English style with South African additions. Children...

My Mom, Daughter and I stayed at the Inn on the 1st of Jan 17, on our way to Durban. What a beautiful place in the middle of nowhere. We loved the flowers and the animals and the food was really good and value for money! The rooms are wonderfully "old" and portray the era really well. I have only...

On Saturday 7th January 2017 on our way home we had booked to over night at the Green Lantern. It was a day not to be forgotten, besides the rain, mist and traffic we had a stop and go for almost 3 1/2 hours from the start of Van Reenens. It was one accident after another. I contacted Green Lantern...

Been here a few times, the food is usually spectacular and the breakfast stunning. This time, the lunch was average, burgers cold, fish overdone. The dinner menu was very limited. The breakfast a buffet, went to get scrambled eggs to find the waiter, stirring in hot water to make the eggs runny again............yuk. Had garden rooms, very noisy from the...
