My family is relocating to the area and we were looking for a house to buy. We stayed two nights at the Old Bear B&B. We felt very welcomed there and it was like visiting good friends. We stayed at the Orion room with a private bathroom and a private entrance. Our dog was very welcomed as well. The room...

In 2009 we started coming up to Pine Mountain club - close to LA and in the Los Padres National Forest. Over the next few years we stayed with David and Maxine at their B&B many times and enjoyed their beautiful house furnished like a mountain lodge. Recently we bought a cabin of our own there. Turns out we are...

What a perfect weekend getaway we had at the Old Bear Bed and Breakfast! We had the pleasure of visiting this charming B & B on Halloween weekend when we went up to visit friends for the holiday. We were warmly greeted by the owners, Maxine and David Stenstrom and their two dogs, Pepper and Heidi. There is a large...

My wife and I recently stayed at the Old Bear and Breakfast and were very disappointed. The location is great, but the condition of the home is wanting. First, the place hasn't had a true, deep cleaning in a VERY long time. (look at the photos). The bathroom was shared with other couples and was not cleaned the whole time...

It's like being home. The owners are friendly and welcoming. We brought our dog and she was just as welcomed as we were! A delicious breakfast was waiting for us in the morning. You can't go wrong with this B&B.

Came up for the snow and fell in love with this place. Excellent for families. Breakfast was wonderful. David and Maxine are wonderful hosts and have opened up their home to those looking to get away from it all for a little while. We had the Cowboy Room and was just right for our family of four, two little girls....

Our family pulled into the Old Bear after a grueling mid-day drive across LA with our dog, three kids (including a 16-month old), and tons of xmas presents from the grandparents stuffed into our minivan.... wow, what a welcome relief to be welcomed as we pulled into the driveway by David, the super-friendly (I would actually use the word "jolly")...

I love the Old Bear Bed and Breakfast! The place is adorable-- all wood, an old fashioned fireplace, giant hot tub in the middle of the forest, and all of the comforts of home. David and Maxine, the innkeepers, are fabulous-- funny, warm, and worth the trip all on their own. Added bonus-- rooms are SO reasonably priced. My boyfriend...

My husband and I travel extensively, so we were expecting more from this B&B. We were staying in someone's house, and not a true bed and breakfast. Our room was off the family kitchen and laundry room, down a small flight of stairs. The bathroom was up a small flight of stairs, located off the laundry room. There was no...

I recently stayed at the Old Bear with some friends for a few days, and we couldn't be happier with the experience! David and Maxine are fantastic hosts -- the food was delicious, and they were so much fun to talk to. Not only that, they were endlessly helpful to us as we planned hikes and explorations around Pine Mountain...
