Clean but not clinical! Unpretentious but real in every sense of the word. Between Jeremy and Sharon the owners, they have mastered several University degrees but more appropriate, they have mastered being gracious hosts. Never in your face but always there, baking bread, making delicious food or just answering our numerous questions. Klaarstroom is a tiny oasis at the edge...

Good and home feeling. It has a lovely sitting area with a fire place. There is also a swimming pool which is great especially during the heat of the summer in the western cape. This town is on the R62 which is famous for many reasons, and this town offers great dry fruits and wine. This is a good place...

This is the place you can go to if you want to unwind from the rat race. Jeremy and Sharon makes you feel at home and welcome you with true Karoo hospitality. Have a cup of tea on the stoep and enjoy the stillness of the area. Go for a walk in the tiny town and enjoy the beautiful surroundings...

We slept soundly in a spacious double volume room with double doors opening onto a warm sunny patio with a view of the mountains. I cannot stress the importance of a firm mattress which we found at this B&B. The B&B is in a historic Victorian home spacious and charming with the warmth and hospitality only found in the country...

Jeremy and Sharon have proved to be superb hosts! I just love this little guesthouse in the middle of nowhere! Well almost nowhere! it is nestled in the foothills of the magnificent Swartberg Mountains on the edge of Meiringspoort, a road carved through the Swartberg and a delight to ride through on a motorcycle. Meals are fab and tiny village...

I was told that the house is accessible for a wheelchair...to me accessibility extends beyond the bathroom, so I wasn't prepared for all the steps I saw on arrival around the house! We travelled 6 hours to get there and we booked 6 months in advance, so there was no turning back point and we made do with the lower...

Gee, Fionna - what a pity you didn't mention these things to us during your stay. We would have gladly helped by offering you a ramp for the more shallow stairs at the front door and a lower table and other accessories in your room to make your ablutions easier. As neither you nor Lodewyk mentioned anything when you were...

Our stay was arranged by our motorcycle tour operator and we could not have bee more pleased! Sharon greeted immediately upon our arrival and made us feel like we were visiting family. Our tour of the area was intended to get us close to the personality and culture of the country in that regard our stay here could not have...

Klaarstroom is in the middle on nowhere and that is its charm. Come out of Meiringspoort heading towards Beaufort West and it is on your left. Blink and you will miss it. But stop and stay and you will love it. It is a wonderful end to the beautiful journey down Route 62. This is rustic charm at its best....

After traveling all day it was a relieve to arrive at this little gem in the Great Karoo! Klaarstroom Guesthouse is located in a wonderful part of South Africa, well positioned at the Great Karoo entrance to the spectacular Meiringspoort. The little village has a great feel and one can not but fall in love with it. We were made...

This place is a beautifully, clearly lovingly restored high-ceilinged, wooden-floored Victorian Klein Karoo farmhouse, complete with a pool & windmill. For anyone who has fond memories of holidaying in the Klein Karoo in the second half of last century (as I have), this place will feel very nostalgic. The hamlet of Klaarstroom is an almost perfectly preserved Victorian village. We had...
