This is by far my BEST stay from all the travelling I have done after 1 year. I have experienced 5 stars hotels and resorts, but also, let's say it, some awful ones. You will not find a better value for money. It honestly blew my mind how comfortable and clean the room was, how beautiful the pools and garden space were, and how delicious the breakfast was. The staff will go beyond their way to make you feel at ''home''. They will treat you like family if you let them, they will bring you to visit their village, they will gladly tell you more about the ceremonies that go on in the street and even take you with them. The free shuttle to the center of the city is quite handy and for a traveller like me, very economic. They also have a scooter rental service or laundry service if you would like that. If you are looking for a quiet space, away from the city (only 10min), clean rooms with balconies, exceptionally friendly staff and great pools to refresh yourself on a sunny day, this is your PLACE. Absolutely amazing like another review this is UGood! The hotel is lovely feels tranquil and if you can get the bungalow it’s worth getting. Staff are always great and on hand, very polite,helpful and happy. There’s a frequent shuttle to and from The hotel which is great. We spent 11 nights here and loved every minute of it. The staff were so welcoming and nothing was ever too much trouble. They provide a shuttle to town, which we found very helpful and loved being able to come back to the peace and quiet. We ate at the restaurant most nights and had breakfast everyday and the food was amazing. Even when we did a day tour we received a packed breakfast. Highly recommend!!

This really was a beautiful little retreat away nestled in the forest away from the busier sides of Ubud. Ubad retreat feels cosy, small and relaxed with a series of comfortable little rooms and bathrooms. What makes this place really stand out is the warmth and friendliness of the staff. Since it's family run they have a wonderful dynamic together and really value and look after their guests. Gus & Gusti were really helpful with advice and organising transfers from the airport and up to Permuteran. Nothing was too much trouble and it was a delight to be welcomed by hosts who typify the friendly Balinese culture. The food at the retreat was also delicious. A small and simple menu but well presented and very tasty. Would definitely recommend.

We had 3 gorgeous days at this hotel. It is run by a family so it is very personal. You are made to feel welcome from the time of your arrival. A special treat was we were invited to share New Year’s Eve with the owner and the family. At the moment there are only 9 units but soon there will be 7 more. It is a great place. Highly recommend if you want a peaceful and relaxing holiday. We will be back!!!!

We stayed here for 4 nights and were very happy with our stay. Ubad retreat is located 15 mins away from central Ubud so it's nice and quiet in the evenings. They offer a shuttle service to and from the hotel which is very helpful and either Gus or ade drive you, even picking us up earlier one night when we requested. Breakfast options were all great made even better by the brilliant and friendly staff. There is renovation happening at the front but it's not loud and didn't bother us whilst using the pool one afternoon. We would defiantly come back as the retreat is brilliant and all the staff are amazing thank you

We had a nice and lovely stay here for 4 nights. Scooter rental wasn’t a Problem at all. The bathroom could have been a cleaner but that wasn’t a dealbreaker. Shuttle service worked well and on time. Gus and his family is great and very nice. Would definitely come back.

I stayed for 3 nights at this beautiful retreat and couldn’t fault them on anything. The staff are so lovely and friendly and make you feel at home straight away, the room was so beautiful true Balinese style, the food was perfect, the list of activities you can do is endless or you can just lay by the pool and relax. After a busy day out adventuring it’s blissful to come back to this quiet lovely retreat and relax. Can’t wait to come back

I normally wait until the end of a holiday to write a review, but in this case I just can’t resist writing one early as I want the world to know how good this place is. Ubad retreat is located perfectly for us, it’s several km away from the all the hustle and bustle of Ubud centre and this makes it such a peaceful and relaxing place. We have really enjoyed the walk to and from the centre on a few occasions and on other occasions have been able to access the retreat’s own taxi service and shuttle whenever we have needed. (The shuttle is free and runs at fixed times, the taxi is the most fairly priced compared to using another company or street taxi). Also Agusto the driver has been so great giving us advice and waiting for us when we have needed to pop to places and just generally being a very kind man. The retreat is so peaceful and just feels like absolute paradise, tropical fruits growing on the grounds and the sounds of the wildlife are the icing on the cake! It’s also close to the monkey forest and rice terraces, and if you are the adventurous type there are some amazing walks you can do from the retreat to waterfalls and the jungle just a few minutes away. My partner has made the most of this whilst I have enjoyed the tranquility of laying by the pool with delicious fruit juice! Ade and his team are AMAZING, we have never experienced service quite like this. They are all so courteous and helpful. Our room is made up freshly and looks lovely when we get back from our adventures each day. There are so many little touches that make this place special, one of my favourite things is a bowl of fresh flowers and petals to have in the bath each day... so lovely! The Rooms are extremely clean and have air conditioning, tv, bath/ shower and a super comfy bed! The food is delightful, breakfast options are very varied and all taste great. They offer a lovely range of fruit juices and platters which have helped us stay healthy and hydrated. The pool is beautiful with sun Loungers around it, lit up and Night making it perfect for an evening swim. Once again I want to mention and thank the staff for their amazing service, they have all gone out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and special as possible and honestly we never want to leave.I’m already planning a return trip to Bali and without a doubt will be staying at Ubad retreat again.
