I booked 1 suite pool villa because I saw the pic in their instagram is so nice. The room was clean, neat and almost perfect. I also got a romantic decor even I come for staycation only. The ambience was sooo relaxing as it is in the middle of Ubud area. If the villa completed with hair dryer, and a complete Tv channel, it would be great. Tv channel was mostly unactive and only some can be watched. So far, it was nice villa.

I would rate this a zero if that was possible. Do not book this place unless you want to have a nightmare holiday! Starting at the beginning, the booking said we would be picked up from the airport, however, after waiting a long time, we finally had to try to arrange to get there ourselves because we couldn't wait any longer. Obviously, it was more expensive and more hard work to then have to arrange a taxi from the airport instead of pre-booking. They confirmed afterwards that they don't pick you up, so don't expect this. From then, we arrived to be shown to a room that was not what we booked and wasn't even ready for anyone to stay in. I asked why we weren't being given the villa with private pool (this was just a random villa that all of the rest of the resort could access and see into) and was advised that other guests had the place we should have for a few days then we'd be given it. They told me that they advertise that they have a few of the private villas when that's not the case but they get you into whatever room is available on arrival. Obviously, I'd only booked to get the private villa, so why would I want to stay anywhere else and why would I want to move half way through a holiday and pay for the full amount as well (which is a side issue but still)? Anyway, so the room we were given was absolutely disgustingly dirty, I'm not exaggerating, and didn't even have anything covering the glass doors next to the bed so everyone could literally see in and I had to request for curtains to be put up. At this point, it was really late at night and we couldn't sleep in this disgusting room but we were advised that a manager wouldn't be in until around 11am the next day. So we had to wait in the room awake and no manager ever showed. The only people who showed were the next receptionist for the day and they advised that a manager wouldn't be in for days. The company I booked through was attempting to ring the resort to try to sort something for me and they didn't even have an inbound phone line for this to happen. Therefore, the company cancelled the stay and found me somewhere else to stay (after being up for god knows how long) I had to get all of our stuff, find a taxi somehow and move again. However, the receptionist would not let me leave without paying for the night that I didn't even use any facilities whatsoever. I finally argued my way out to leave and left a note however, a few months later they still had my card details and charged me for the full stay anyway! Oh and this was my honeymoon, just to make everything worse. So yeah, AVOID at all costs or you will definitely regret it. Do not let any better reviews fool you into thinking you'll get the room you booked and don't let them ruin your holiday like they nearly did with mine (instead, check out Ashoka, which is beautiful).

I wrote an email to the general manager and also to reservation and never received an answer. This is a copy of my email send to them thatcexpkain everything To : Villa Mandi Att: Gusti Suwantara (General Manager) I will be very brief with my comments. We stay at Villa Mandi last Sunday and Monday 1 We had to wait more than 15 minutes for check in with no any other guest there 2 Reception don’t have scanner, printer, computer and they have to phone the office to get confirmation, also have to write down by hand any documents that we provided 3 After confirmed my booking the price you gave me was 866.000 and not 675.000 as for my booking so they had to make more phone calls to the office and at the end I paid 675,000 4 When I paid with Visa Card they ask me 3% commission which I refused to pay because it is against Bank Indonesia regulations AND ALL OF YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS BUT STILL TRY TO PASS THE % TO GUEST. Also it is not 3% and you are trying to make money even on what you are suppose to pay to the bank 5 You can’t advertising breakfast included because your breakfast is REALLY BAD WITHOUT MANY CHOSES. (You have 2 chooses, eggs in 3 different style and pancakes with different sauce….. STILL only eggs and pancakes) If I ask for coffee or tea I can’t have fruit juice, COFFEE AND TEA SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE BREAKFAST as standard. 6 the ceiling in the bathroom is leaking 7 Your beds hits are far too small for the mattress and come up when sleep, also uncomfortable 8 Last day there was no HOT WATER in the room You are very stingy about everything but breakfast if the worse Very disappointed Renato

Honest review of villa Mandi - the good points The staff were nice but couldn’t really speak English. It was quite and peaceful. On arrival, we were not given the room we had booked, that was occupied until the following day. We agreed to upgrade to a villa with a pool at a discounted rate. The first room we looked at had mould on the walls and the pool water was dark green. We were finally given a delux villa. It was a good size, the floor and bed were clean. The furniture was dated and grubby but usable. The tv didn’t work, the air-condition unit was not remotely adequate for the size of the room, we asked for a fan but they didn’t have one, they was no hot water a all. They was no cushions on the deck chairs or gazebo but I’m just being picky now. The communal pool was unusable, many missing tiles, murky water not one guest used or sat around it. The restaurant was basic, the food and drinks cheap and had a local authenticity, this did include copulating dogs at the front entrance. Other good points, the transfers to and from the airport were reliable, the shuttle to and from town were free and the gardens were kept well.

We booked this villa on Agoda. we got a room with a private pool. service is friendly but a bit slow respond. No telephone in room so we must go to lobby to tell something. the tv in our room didn't work, the wifi was bad connection and the staff didn't have a solution to that problem. what we like is a comfortable private pool and king size bedroom.

This place is NOTHING like what is shown on their website or other travel outlets. I booked a "superior" room and even though clean, it came totally bare. No bed canopy, no flowers, no bathtub. One of the walls was basically glass door facing the main path. I had to keep the dark curtains shut all the time to have some privacy. The staff is friendly but they don't understand English. Every day they asked me if my room was ok. I told them several times that it wasn't and i wanted to transfer but they just nodded and smiled and i ended up staying in that room for the whole duration of my stay. Cons: Location: far from everyhting Taxi: they offer "taxi" service and charge 30K more than the normal cab across the st. beware! Accommodation: no privacy, no comfort (this would be a 2 star hotel in US) Be prepared to be overcharged. Pool is dirty Pool area is dirty and there are no lounge chairs Poor wifi connection Staff members don't speak English and are not helpful Bathroom was not clean Pros: Friendly Staff although not helpful at all

Completely honest review coming up: On arrival to Villa Mandi warm and welcoming smiles awaited us by the three reception staff. They explained the check in process, breakfast, facilities and local information including tours and excursions very clearly. The room itself was spacious, clean and nice warm shower. Occasionally house keeping would forget to put out two towels etc but this was quickly rectified by the amazing reception staff! Special mention to Ayu, Nita, Pak Ketut, Ratna who showed outstanding customer service skills, and motivation to go above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Breakfast was basic (choice of omelettes/eggs or pancake) but to a good standard and juices were delicious. We organised a wonderful tour with Ketut through the Villa and he showed us all the best sites of the Ubud area. Please do not book in advance as the Villa do great rates and they will always undercut the completion! We also rented a scooter from the Villa for 60k for 24 hours (bargain!) Every morning when we came down for breakfast the wonderful receptionist would ask us if there was anything wrong with the room and ask for feedback. I know all the staff who are at the villa have bright futures/careers ahead of them. Free transport to and from Ubud centre via Villa also! If you want warm Ubud feels, homely stay, friendly staff, amazing rice field views- Villa Mandi is the one for you! We’re not saying this is five star luxury but it is clean, comfortable and fun! We book from 2 weeks , we call them for some request and after the girl said that we have to send an Email for that,, We send an Email and no answer at all until we are checking in,, we are arrived in the Villa and the girl said we have to stay in another villa(not villa mandi) because the room that we booked is on upgrade,, We are really shocked,,why don’t you inform us before we arrived,,no respect at all,, In this case You have to inform the guest by Email or phone before they are checking in,, And you have to be on training before you are on front desk!!! NEVER come bAck, We are not staying free,we pay you and we stay!!!
