Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The owners made us feel as though we were welcome guests invited to stay in their home. We took an auto tour of Southern Germany, staying in hotel-castles. This was the first at which we stayed and the only one not remodeled in a fashion which diminished centuries old charm of the rooms.

I just loved it. The charm of this really old building is just overwhelming. The house has been renovated and equipped with old furniture in a most lovely way. White the location is "in the middle of nowhere", this very special location makes up for the extra mile. I would go there again, definitely.

This was my second visit at this charming hotel. The entrance was large and imposing with steps that show the wear of 800+ years of feet entering. There is a grand staircase that leads to beautifully appointed rooms. The sleeping room had its own bathroom that was very large with a shower, sink and toilet. The bed had warm duvets...

After a two-night stay we can praise the castle, the welcome and the effort the owners obviously put into keeping up and renovating the place. Rooms are spacious, common areas furnished with antiques, reception areas perfect for an anniversary or for a wesding party. The garden is absolutely charming and one feels like relaxing there for hours away from the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Schloss Zeilitzheim is a country estate in the Franconian wine country. The von Halem family undertook the arduous task of restoring the estate near Volkach to its original state: the result is a family-run hotel in the village of Zeilitzheim. Its rooms are ideal for relaxing stays. Additionally, the manor-like estate with its arcade courtyard and walls partly covered by climbing roses, gardens and festive halls are excellently suited for family festivities. A winery run by the estate's owner Alexander von Halem and his two friends Heiko Niedermeyer und Christian Werr compliment the offering with its white and red wines. ... more   less
