First things first. Consider this place as a homestay more than a hotel. That is because the hotel staff considers you more as visiting friends. The highlight of the place is the location itself. A clear view of the mountains from the entire resort, sounds of the waterfall that is situated less than 1 Km. and a flowing river that is again visible from almost everywhere in the resort. Our room was very spacious with a very big bathroom. The hotel does not have a menu card but any food that you need can be cooked. The family vibes start when they ask on what would the guest like to eat and then cook them to their taste. The staff is very courteous and goes out of the way to help you. The place is middle of the mountain with nothing in the neighborhood therefore plan to bring anything you might need during the stay. Overall one of the best and most amazing experiences I had and would definitely recommend this.

Our experience at The Writer’s Hill was nothing short of amazing. We were looking for a nearby destination to go to as a family - away from the traditional hill stations near Delhi/NCR. It was our luck that led us to come across this property. Our Cottage was beautiful, and we had a great view of the surrounding hills. The food was excellent, and the property owner made sure that we never felt short of anything. The nearby Mandir - Renuka Ji - is also beautiful, and is surrounded by a wonderful lake. There is a trek that you can partake in as well.

The area surrounding the property has not yet been discovered by many, adding to the charm and beauty of the place. Definitely a must visit.

The perfect place to have a relaxing holiday with its scenic beauty and charming serenity. Early morning walks were a delight accompanied by the most lovely chirping of birds. In the evenings, one can enjoy a great meal in the outdoors amidst nature's bounty. Great home cooked style food (you can cook yourself too!). Mr. Harinder Singh, cook Ramji and all the staff members were extremely courteous, soft-spoken and polite. A well-maintained compound and a must visit for anyone looking to spend quality time enveloped in calm, peace and quiet! Highly recommended!

It's the perfect place if someone wants to do nothing - in a good way! If you want to relax, read a great book, sleep well, eat great home-style food cooked to your preferences & forget the world, this is the place. You can go for treks around if you want to but honestly, that's not necessary.

Harinder ji is a host who is helpful, makes you comfortable & tries his best to complete all your demands. Ram ji cooks great breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks... Must try the arbi leaf pakodas & tikkis! The other staff are all also very helpful. In fact, the great thing is the staff & owner don't behave like servants & master & it's lovely to see them have mutual respect.

And then there are the dogs specially Fanny who is perhaps the most friendly dog without making you uncomfortable. The only drawback is the climb to the cottages which makes it unsuitable for those with health issues or the aged. For everyone else, don't expect an action-packed vacation. Go there if you want to recharge.

Writers Hill, a hidden gem in the hills of Nahan, Himachal. Budding writers who want to do a tête-à-tête with their thoughts in a tranquil & serene environment, Corporate professionals who want a break from their daily monotonous routine and want to unwind, Writers Hill is a place for them. Don’t go there for luxury, go there for comfort & if you want a home away from home!
Harinder Ji, is gem of a person, who redefines hospitality. He knows how to take care of his guests, be it your 10 years old Son, 70 years old Dad or even your pet for that matter!
I wish him all the best and will plan a visit again soon!!

I visited Writers Hill in the month of December with a friend. To be honest, anybody looking for a quiet and peaceful stay away from hustle bustle THIS IS THE PLACE. The best thing about the place was its utter quiet broken only by chirping birds, gurgling stream and falling leaves. Lots of books for book lovers and bonfires in the evening. The garden sitting area is perfect to have tea & to take a lot of pictures and just relax. We stayed in the No Orchids for Miss Blandish cottage, the room was spacious and very tidy. Munish ji was so polite and made us feel at home. Ramji, the chef prepared North Indian food for us as per our choice and it was just AMAZING.

A must recommended place for a getaway at any point of time! I am definitely going to visit again.

Delhi, Delhi, India
To be able to reach around lunch or before...the best time to leave Delhi/Noida/Gurgaon is around six or before so you beat the traffic. Head straight till Karnal bypass; come through the ISBT route till you come to the Karnal bypass. Hit the highway (NH1)...you could stop wherever you feel for b'fast and drive till Shahbad. Shahbad comes after Karnal and Kurukshetra. After you cross Shahbad town (remember like Panipat, Shahbad also has a flyover taking you over the town). Minutes later there is a bridge, cross that and you hit a flyover. Don't go over it. Take the left service lane and turn right below the fly over. It's a 180 degree turn.  You will be on the road to Saha, Naraingarh and Kala Amb. After you cross Saha...keep going till you see the road take a natural left (on the right the landmark is the Radha Soami Satsang). Take a right turn to Naraingarh. Now you have to keep going straight till you hit the tax barrier in Kala Amb. On the way to the left would be The Haryali Dhaba. In case of a doubt on the road, pls ask for the road to Kala Amb. Once you reach the barrier at Kala Amb, the road will be bad for a stretch of 2 to 3 kms.  Keep going, the road will start climbing till you hit a T after around 20 minutes. Now take the left road which takes you to Nahan. Don't take the right that goes to Dehradun.  From Nahan please follow the road to Renuka or Dadahu, the town before Renuka. You will be on a smooth newly built road after Nahan. Next you will come to a point called the Do Sadka Mode. 6 to 7 small eating joints will be on the left. Take an almost 180 degrees turn to the right and up. Keep coming till you hit a small town Jamta with a big shop called Chauhan on your right. The road takes a left 50 mts from there and goes downhill. We are 13 kms from there. Stop the car when you see a milestone on the left saying Dadahu 9 kms. We will be right in front. There is a black gate with Writers Hill written to the right above it.
