It was an amazing experience to relax over the weekend with delicious food and an insane holiday in the beautiful town of Dhenkanal and beautiful Dhenkanal Palace. The food was very delicious and the Royal Family was very hospitable. The highlight of this trip was interacting, staying and dining with the Royal Family. This place has all the facilities which is top notch and the staff too is very interactive. The rooms are spacious and clean toilets. This palace has a rich history and culture that one can experience only if they come and stay here, which is highly recommended. My experience was a great one!
A great stay...we stayed there from 23 rd Jan to 26 th January, 2021. Such a royal stay. Met present king and Queen...Mrs and Mr. K P Singh Deo.... wonderful people....we are honoured to have a great time with them. Awesome hospitality from Mr. Amarjyoti Singh Deo. The exclusive decor of the palace is inexplicable.Good food is an added luxary. We will definitely come back again.
Situated at a distance of ~70kms from Bhubaneswar, Dhenkanal Palace offers the perfect unwinding experience from the hustle and bustle of city life. The palace is situated in verdant surroundings and the views from the first floor are particularly enthralling. The staffs are courteous and will guide you through the palace. Authentic home cooked Odia food was another attraction . We also happened to interact with the members of the Royal Family over lunch and were particularly overwhelmed with their hospitality. Since this happens to be the only palace cum heritage homestay in the state, it's highly recommended to visit this grandiose structure and relive the royal experience. Some cultural programs ( like folk dance) can be arranged so that tourists can have a glimpse of Odia culture as seen in most palaces of Rajasthan…
This was an amazing experience to visit the palace. We were personally greeted & guided by His Excellency Amarjyoti Singhdeo Maharaj. It was great the way His Excellency described the great history. Really indebted & grateful to Maharaj for all the hospitality.
We stayed at this heritage homestay from the 27th December 2020 to the 30th December 2020, with my wife and son (6 years). It was one of my most memorable home stays in a heritage property. The booking was smooth and i made the initial payment through net banking and received immediate confirmation. I had asked certain queries, which were answered promptly. We travelled from Bhubaneshwar on a cab and reached the palace gate within an hour and half. We were received at the palace gate. It was a memorable and an unique experience. The palace is surrounded with greenery. They took care of my son and spend time with him. They ensured that the food was local and cooked as per our dietary requirements. The food was cooked fresh and lip smacking. The rooms were given to us immediately. Since we were the only guests, we got to choose our rooms. All rooms and bathrooms are huge by any standards, and you can play football in balconies of the palace. The rooms do not have televisions. But i think that is a great thing to happen. Why waste time watching television, when you have come to unwind? They have a Wi-Fi connection. I was open with the local sight seeing, and they organized it perfectly well. They gave us a car, driver and a person accompanying us. All the places they took us to were wonderful. They have a beautiful organic farm. So if you have a kid or from the city and they have never seen a firm, ask them to take you there. They have a lot of Indian cows and rubber plantations, organic veggies growing. It is a pleasure to watch it. We also went to the other places recommended by them. Dokra art village, Ikkat village for sarees were something remarkable. There are a lot of places around, like Kapilas temple, Joranda (Must visit-Temple without any idol). If you have some more days in hand, try out the other Buddhist sites around it. This place is not for people who are looking for 5* rated services and great facilities. If you want to enjoy a charming palace, serene surroundings, wonderful people, clean air, local food and royalty, then you should be here. This is a place to unwind yourself. This is a once in a life time experience. Make the most use of it and i am sure, you will be never forget the hospitality and the experience.…
I was looking for a weekend gateway to celebrate my husband's birthday, and came across the name of this palace homestay. And I am so glad that we decided to come to this place. The palace is so well maintained and magnificent. It is beautifully decorated with all the royalty and collectibles that seems that your entire day will pass just looking at all the this stuff. I love the bedroom (all the bedrooms for the guest). Its so beautifully decorated with traditional stuff that words are not enough. On top of it, it is nestled between the jungle and the mountain so from tha palace you can see amazing views. The royal family stays in the palace, so some part of the palace is restricted for the guest. We got the opportunity to meet and talk to the maharaja, maharani and Yuvraj. It was immense experience. The food is included in the stay and is lip smacking. Highly recommend this place.…
On the hilltop, with beautiful forests, greenery, and a beautiful ecosystem around the palace adds to the vibe. Delicious food with top notch amenities and the Royal Family was very hospitable and always hosted me with a smile. Prince Vidvattam of the Royal Family took me around the cities of Dhenkanal and Khamakhyanagar which indeed helped me learn alot about the area. A pickup and drop off to and from Bhubhneshwar airport was also there. The bathrooms are really clean and there is free wifi in the palace. all in all, i had a blast and do recommend the readers to explore this part of india and also be a party to the warm hospitality of the Royal Family who indeed will make your trip a memorable one.
My passage to India, has taken me on many journeys. Finding The Palace in Dhenkanal, gave me a precious gift on many levels. To feel the floors beneath my feet, feeling the history of this ancient land. To stay in a palace so rich in its past, filled with collections of textiles and open spaces. The gracious elegance of the original family, so willing to share their stories is very rare, As my own interest as a longtime yogini and contemporary chef the choice of vegetarian cuisine was extrodinary, using all the subtle flavours of this region. I would highly recommend this superb location as a base to discover beyond, it is definitely a highlight of my recent journey through Odisha. Each day gives you a deeper understanding, stay longer and allow this place to fill your soul. Namaste…
Nestled on a hilltop with lush forests and hills the Dhenkanal Palace is an ideal weekend getaway or if your travel plans allow for exploration, longer. A ideal spot to disconnect and unwind. The guest section of the palace has spacious and comfortable rooms, each furnished uniquely and tastefully with local, regional or Indian furniture, paintings and artifacts. A tour of the rooms and common areas makes for an interesting exposure to lifestyles of the royal family. Take the time to visit the temple dedicated to the family deity. The staff is extremely polite and the service is excellent. The food representing the local cuisine is made right there in the kitchens and home cooked. The staff absolutely makes you feel at home. The family who live there take personal interest in their guests and take pride in their rich heritage and culture. Take the time to converse with the family. If Odisha is India's best kept secret (the state tourism tagline), the Dhenkanal Palace might be Odisha's secret.…
A well maintained palace, superb hospitality from the Royal Family themselves, Every section at the place is worth taking a click at.
