Location wise perfectly settled to give you best sea view from 1st or 2md floor... Rooms could have been more well maintained. Food was Good Only cons being access...as low tide will allow to drive in only....it sounds adventurous but PPL who love their car will have problem in parking...

Property has been badly damaged by the recent cyclone. Entry point and original reception area does not exist anymore. Getting to the hotel is through very risky steep uneven path. Senior citizens, people with orthopaedic issues should avoid the place till it is restored. Rooms are okay. Food is excellent. Staff behaviour is equally good. You can enjoy your stay if you manage to check in after all the hassles.

Honestly I will try to keep this review short and to the point: This was my 14th or 15th (not sure) time visiting Mandarmoni. I have stayed in Sana beach resort,Digante, gonden beach,Arya, hotel hindustan, candlewood but it was my first time(and surely last) in this hotel. Then again as we tried getting the booking very late all my known resorts were full so had to try new one and my bad luck we stuck with this hotel.I am not much of a reviewer but having such experience I must do it as it might help some fellow traveler. Mandarmoni is a great place only such bad experiences make us feel bad about it. So here it goes. We visited Mandarmoni at 20th March 2021 and returned on 22nd March. We were 3 families including 4 adults and 4 kids. So we booked one double room and one 4 bed room in first floor of the building. Now lets dig into each items: ACCESSIBILITY: Now most of the hotels in Mandarmoni has direct access from main road but not this hotel. You have to go down via a narrow road then drop in beach and then take a uturn and upclimb to the hotel. During high tide you can not enter the hotel or exit from it. So if required you can not access mandarmoni road or bazaar. The parking place is small and always crowded with cars and yes it reaches from gate to front of the retaurant. ROOM: Any 1000 rs hotel in Kolkata is better than this any they charged 2300 for the double room and 3500 for the 4 bed room. In both room only single towel was given also they mentioned they do not change bed sheets or towel for single stay(for me it was a shocker). In double room there was a bathtub buttttt it was yellow(literally). AC water pipe was exited in bathroom above the tap(genius engineering) so your bucket will be filled even the tap is off. $ bed room has a balcony but ITS FRONT IS BLOCKED by another room(great). No closet for cloths. AC behaved on its own(in both room just to confirm). FOOD: A lot of people have already mentioned so I will keep it short. Hotel have a policy of serving thalis(with a few sanjis, dal, papad, chatni and a sweet in super MINI bowls(my salt dispenser is larger). Now there is no ala carte concept so for our 4 kids we had to order 4 thalis though we requested that its not required only we need some rice, dal and bhaji in plates but they denied. To give an estimate they charged the thalis 160 rs and for any fish its around 180-200 extra. So simple fish meal will cost you around 350 rs. We had to do it for our kids too though most of the food went to gutter. SERVICE: ITS THE MAIN PROBLEM I ASSUME. The service of any establishment can make up all other disadvantages. But in this hotel service is the major issue. Lets make some points: * The manager and the restaurant supervisor is rude. Simply rude. I have heard a lot of reviews of how great this hotel is but I wonder why they mentioned it? Is there any change in management after Covid situation? * IF you have kids plz plz plz do not avail this hotel. This hotel is not kids friendly at all. If you order some food for kids(we had to beg for it) as breakfast of snacks they take it as least priority. Their most attention is towards snack like pakodas or kebabs for drinks side dish. Being a drinker myself I do not have any issue with it but in every hotels I ever stayed have found any request for kids are taken with special care and it should be. Also there was no option for make your kids food at room using electric kettle too as this hotel is fully generator executed so use of thee kettles are not allowed. Also outside food is not allowed so you can not bring say boiled maggie from roadside too. So you are stuck with your kids having only cakes and chips you might have with you and wait for dinner. Now coming to dinner I will not drag much its hopeless similer. and they start serving dinner from 10 only as before that their kitchen is busy with serving snack.I do not know if there is any hotel with such late dinner schedule(surprising). PROS: To be honest the service boys of the hotel is really humble and polite. Whenever we asked anything they did not hesitate to deliver(only if manager and kitchen supervisor allows). So I assume the problem lies with the management and if anyhow the owner of this hotel sees this review please change the idea about mandarmoni. Its a great destination for family so service for kids is must else there is no shortage of hotels in Mandarmoni. Conclusion: If you are travelling with friends or partner and above points do not affect you then you can stay in the hotel. But if you have at last one kid in your group please stay away from this hotel. If you have any question which I have not covered feel free to ask. I will answer with full honesty. Lastly I do not have any picture to upload as we were in no mood of taking pictures with such experience so on return we realized there is not a single picture of the trip on our cell or camera.

We spent 2 nights in Neel Nirjaney Resort just a day back and it was VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING. I would suggest people who wish to visit this resort, please go through below listed points before even booking it and those who booked please reconsider it. 1. We had been given a super delux Room and the irony is the room is just the opposite as the name suggest. Shabby, unclean with dust on all furnitures. THERE IS NO CLOSET to keep your clothes. they have hooks on the wall like hostel or mess.Never seen such a filthy room, and they charged us Rs1800 per night! The room does not worth even a 1000 bucks. 2. They give One towel per room no matter how many people are staying and that too they do not change for 2 days!!!!. So me and my husband were forced to use a single towel for 2 days. Can anyone imagine!! 3.Ever since we stepped into our rooms our room was not mopped, neither the bathroom was cleaned or mopped in our 2 nights stay for once. They do not even bother to take away the garbage. So felt like living in a slum room. 4.They did not supply toothpaste and we were shocked to hear that we have to buy it.They gave only one small soap, ONE SMALL Rs 1 CLINIC PLUS pouch for two people! 5. They force people to have breakfast inside rooms and they serve it at around 9-9.30 am. Lunch was served not earlier than 1 .30 pm. So if anyone feels hungry before that scheduled time GOD help those! They WILL NOT COMPROMISE in their times even if the guest wants or dies of hunger. 6. IN BREAKFAST they serve only one item as per their choice and you have to eat it whether you like or you dont. And this is the breakfast they include in their room tariffs!!!!!.No other breakfast order is entertained. In our 2 nights stay we only saw 4 kachuris and dal (one day) and potato curry(one day)in a MICRO BOWEL which could hardly contain 2 spoons of curry 5. NOW COMING TO FOOD , the one thing which was much appreciated in most of the reviews. They serve thalis in lunch with rice, 2 sabjis, dal, dahi, chatni, and papad. All the items are served in MICRO BOWEL which could hold only one medium size spoon of sabji. If you order fish or chicken they are extra. Fish items are tasteless and we found only the sabjis are good to eat. The sweet, chatni are below average. Apart from the sabjis they supply at lunch, NO OTHER ITEM THEY COOKED WERE EDIBLE. chicken pakora and chili chicken are even worse than the street foods. 6. They take orders for snacks at 7 pm and by the time they served, it was nearly 8 pm. So even if you want it prior to that it is a strict NO. They also force guests to order for dinner along with the snacks no matter you are sure or not .And again they have so very little options in dinner. If you ask them to modify the items according to your taste like more spicy or less spicy they would not do so.They served COLD FOOD at night in our rooms in unclean containers and we could make out it was cooked much before than they served us. When complained they gave excuse of winter season. Overall they have an attitude of "EAT WHAT AND WHEN WE GIVE OR ELSE GET LOST" 7. We happened to have a look inside the kitchen. It is very unhygienic, unclean. The restaurant attached with the kitchen is equally filthy with stained table, unclean chairs with dirty covers and lots of flies always buzzing around 8. Last but not the least they do not have proper entry. The entry is along the beach. During high tide one cannot enter it . The entry path is made of rocks and boulders and we witnessed cars damaging their tyres trying to climb it.They also do not have enough parking space inside the resorts. Rooms have fluctuating voltage after 4 pm with lights going dim and coming back again the entire evening.Gives you a ghastly feeling! So I would request people to please reconsider to book this resort because it is basically a 3rd grade lodge in terms of everything they serve along with their unspoken attitude. A absolute NO for families having kids

Pros: 1. Staff are well behaved, gentle and always ready for any kind of assistance. 2. The resort is right on the beach, well decorated with plants and grass lawns. 3. Excellent food at reasonable price. 4. Delux rooms are exceptionally well maintained, well furnished. Cottages are pretty good. Cons: 1. The condition of road for last 2 Kms is very bad, especially from the diversion towards the resort. 2. Entering the resort from beach may test your driving skills if you are going by car. It's a steep uneven slope with broken pieces of rough stones placed carelessly. Though it's only 60-70 ft long slope but very dangerous. 3. The restaurant may be much cleaner. Overall I liked the resort a lot and would love to visit again.

Very good kitchen served us very good authentic Bengali Dishes. But at Rs.1,700 per night the infrastructure really fell short of expectation. The Bathroom needs maintenance and renovation very badly. That is to say, the bathtub is stained, the shower did not work. The commode seat does not stay raised up, it always falls down. So, if a family is staying there, the gentlemen in the family will need to hold the toilet seat up while urinating, just so that the seat does not get soiled. The white washing in the room needs renovation. There are more comfortable and pleasing to the eye hotels available even in cities at the rate of Rs.1,700 per night. The upholstery in the room need change, they are so old. Thankfully they were well washed.

Well, this is a pathetic hotel. Horrible is the staffs and worst manager. The arrogance and attitude of the manager is very very poor. Imagine spending 2500 rs for a room which doesn't even have the basic cleanliness and hygiene maintained. For food, you have to depend on the choice of the hotel - you do not have any choice for the food. They have only one menu for Breakfast and max 2 for lunch. Importantly, they are not even bothered to arrange or prepare something else even if you are willing to pay. If you ask - you have to bear with the attitude of the arrogant hotel staffs. The chicken they served in evening snacks was stale and the mutton they served as dinner was even poor. Overall a horrible experience. Never ever visit this hotel - there are far far better options available.

If you ever wondered whether two absolute polarities could exist in the world of travel and tourism, well, this is it...Nil Nirjane Resort at Mandarmani.Let me explain: Garden of Eden: location, tranquility, beautiful, rolling landscaped garden( a bit untidy, though),everything that you wanted to get far far away from the madding crowd. Its right there on the beach, quite literally and the sea can be comfortably seen from the Suite Rooms. There is a covered viewing area with deck chairs along the front facade of the beach, which is perfect for just laying back and enjoying the sea.... Now for the bad part: The Service from Hell: From the time we entered the hotel, everything and I mean everything about the service was amiss. I can’t even rate the service with a single star: it deserves zero stars! We had to remind the staff about each and every little thing a hundred times: even basic things like providing two towels for the both of us, providing drinking water replacements, giving meals within a reasonable time frame for our little one, the entire experience was spoiled by having to constantly goad the staff like a mahout does to a reluctant elephant. And the icing on the cake was that the Suite in which we stayed had the generator right below us, so the entire purpose of having some peace and quiet was defeated, as it turned out that the generator needed to be operated for almost 15-16 hrs a day. The food options at this place are very limited: They only have thalis during the day and no sabzi at night: only French fries! On top of this, they provide the same, fixed complimentary breakfast in the morning,i.e. five puris and a vegetable preparation...Its enough to drive you crazy! A summary of the points that need urgent improvement by the management: 1. Ensure that the generator is placed far away from the rooms. 2. Dont summarily switch off the power at night. 3. Take care of the fungus and damp walls in the Suite Room(s). 4. Fix the defective water drainage in the Suite Bathroom(s). 5. Install an intercom system. 6. Make an area where the guests can come and take a quick shower or at least wash themselves when getting off from the beach 7. Please train your manager on how to behave with guests.(the MOST important point) I hope this review helps both prospective guests as well as the management!

Visiting Mandarmani and staying at Nil Nirjane in this last week of May2019 gave us a mixed experience. The hotel's position, rooms and ambience are good. The staffs are friendly and supporting but I will give a big zero to the Manager for his tall talks, arrogance and lack of cooperative attitude. Food is spicy and we have to take the same for the manager clearly told us that we have to accept their 'cooking style'. The manager needs proper managerial training and grooming for interaction with the guests.
