I stayed 3 nights here. The view is to die for. The location is uphill which great for those who value privacy. A short walk to Kalpa village/town, a good long walk to Roghi village. If you fancy a hike in Chakka Meadow, it's literally just a hike behind this hotel. This place is perfect for a lazy getaway with the amazing view or an active vacation with lots of hike or walk options to different places
Hotel is good and has a very good view from the balcony and the rooftop. The food served is good and the people are friendly as well. I would have rated 5 if there was an additional plug point apart from the one for the TV. The hotel provides wifi which is accessible in the common area downstairs. The garden seating arrangements are good and hot and cold water is available
This hotel provides a beautiful view of Kinnaur Kailash. The rooms here are good and the food offered by them is also good. Overall it was a nice experience here and if you stay here ask for the rooms that offer the view of Kinnaur Kailash.
I had a confirm booking in this hotel through makemytrip , i called the hotel manager , an hour before reaching kalpa and he refused to give me room . I spoke to makemytrip customer care and they said they will resolve the matter but time passed and nothing was settled .Eventually, i had to cancel my confirmed booking and as it was a peak holiday season , it was difficult to get a decent hotel and I was literally stranded in kalpa with my family. I kept calling the manager , but he didnt receive my phone calls . Overall , a horrible experience. So, beware before booking online for this hotel and avoid makemytrip as some hotels may cancel confirmed booking during peak season .
This hotel did not honour Internet bookings of make my trip etc . Food quality is very bad . bathrooms are dirty . Room service is very good. Rooms are small and charges are negotiable . Parking is available but no facility to driver .
I stayed at Rakpa this August. The rooms were clean and the best part is if you can get the balcony view. The view will keep you spell bound. The front lawn and terrace balcony is apt for hosting bonfire nights. The food however, is average and their kitchen needs to be cleaned. The stay apart from this was clean and comfortable. The staff is humble to greet you and help you with the luggage. Whatever information you need about the town all is available with them.
Rooms are very good but Bathroom needs to be maintained as are water logged . Had some problems with water supply the first day but the same was rectified . The Manager who i local is little rude but the staffs are all good .
We stayed here as a group during our Himachal ride. The property is located at a nice vantage point offering 360 degree scenic views with Apple orchards and Kinnaur Kailash peak. The food is mediocre and needs improvement. Breakfast spread is limited but does the job. Staff need some training in hospitality management and need to show some enthusiasm, or at least smile more often. Rooms were clean and running hot water was available. The property does not have a lift so if there are senior citizens, check for a room on the ground floor. The approach to the hotel for two wheeler''s is nothing short of an adventure and needs to be fixed right away.
The erty is owned by a Howrah based tour operator, known by me. They suggested me to go in for rooftop executive rooms. There were four such rooms and we booked three of those. As a result we got the roof exclusive for us. Six of us stayed in these three rooms and views were beyond words. every room had an attached balcony with chairs. Either you sit there or you sit on the roof top, the views will mesmerize you. The Kinnaur Kailash mountain range will be right in front, towering over you. and the quaint little village will appear on one side. As much I have seen, this hotel has the best views among all hotels of Kalpa, specially if you stay in those rooms. The rooms were smallish but comfortable. Toilet had running hot water and WC. Food was to be had at the ground floor dining hall but we, being senior citizens, managed room service. Being Bengalis, the food we took were essentially Bengali - taste was pretty OK. Since we had our own vehicle, we used to go down to Recong Peo, some 7/8 KMs away and used to have wonderful lunch at a first floor restaurant right on the mall and come back. The quality and tast of food there can compete with restaurants in big cities. Service at Rakpa was OK but food prices were on the higher side. Considering remoteness of the place and consequent supply problems, it was understandable. Rakpa is surrounded by apple trees on all sides, so visitors visiting in September/ October will have a special view of hundreds of apple trees all laden with ripe apples of different varieties.…
I stayed in Rakpa Regency for one night with me friends - we were given the rooms on the top floor - one double bed and one triple bed. The rooms were good and clean. The view from the font rooms is awesome. The food was average and service was slow. Also, the waiters were asking for tips again and again rather than concentrating on providing the services first.
