It's a family run hotel and everything is alright.
The Hotel is old-fashioned - so if you want a more modern or stylish hotel you should better go some place else.
The owner was very helpful and friendly.
My room was warm and well cleaned every day.
The room was quite large compared to other hotels - and I had a nice view on the Pilsensee.
Thank Ralf K

If you're looking for a friendly, neighborhood Gasthoff, not too far from Munich, this is the place. Great food ( duck is their specialty ), friendly hosts, clean comfortable rooms. It's less than a mile from the S-Bahn station, though the walk back is mostly uphill. A good breakfast awaits in the morning. Not extravagant but good. The owners went out of their way to accommodate us. Definitely made us feel right at home.

Well, to start with, this hotel is kind of a classic German country house away from all the hectic of the big city. Being on the side of a lake and viewing the spectacular mountains of south Germany is very nice. It gives a warm feeling of living with a family. The owner is the chief who cocks a German traditional plat of duck. Both the owner and his wife were always very kind. He was generous and very much welcoming. Rooms are warm and well cleaned everyday. Room are also wide and not tide as many other European hotels.
Internet has disconnected for two nights during my stay. I made my complain and I believe the owner was working to solve the issue, however, I had to go out one of the nights to find better connection due to my urgent work needs. Off course there is no one to serve you after 9 pm. So, I was not able to convey my complain until next morning. On my last night, Internet connection was perfect and good inside the room. Soaps and shampoo are not provided in good quantity or quality. I had to buy my own shampoo after all.

We had a very nice stay at this charming family run Gasthaus. The whole place has such a comfortable and relaxing air about it – the rooms, the restaurant, the town, the lake. Helmut was very helpful and friendly. From his valuable travel pointers, best places to bike, directions to the post office (etc) - his information & English were very good. He went out of his way to make our stay pleasant, and it was. At the restaurant, his house-made duck was one of the better ones I’ve had – the crispy skin on the outside complements the lush moist meat inside. His quarter duck was huge and seemed more like a half. We ate there two of our three nights since it had tasty food in big portions at a great value. I would come back for dinner again when in the area. Both hotel and restaurant were separately good on their own merits for a classic relaxed Bavarian experience. The breakfast room is airy and pleasant, with a good variety of hearty German breakfast items including meats, cheeses, and hot boiled eggs. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, the web pictures were accurate. Obviously it’s a rural Bavarian Gasthaus and not a plastic Americanized big-city Hilton, but to us this made it more authentic and calming and real, with Wifi and cable TV for modern convenience. It had good safe parking for our car, but a car is not required. Munich was easily reachable by S-bahn on a pleasant walking path to train station which even had “Bahnhofweg” street signs along the way in typical German organized ease. It was a 2-minute walk to the lake just downhill for swimming. I found this a tranquil rural small-village alternative to staying in the big city bustle. I would very happily holiday here again. Thank you Helmut for a memorable stay and perfectly cooked ducks!

This was a great experience. The owners were very welcoming and went out of their way to prepare us a meal even though we arrived late. They had bicycles we could use. I would highly recommend this place.
