We found this gem on a lark and were so pleased. It is dated back to 1100 but completely restored in 1992. You get the feeling you are staying in an old castle but the rooms are new and lovely with sweeping views of the village. Breakfast was also included.

This castle was restored and turned into a hotel-found it on a lark and it is just amazing! With a mishmash of architectural styles ranginf from 1200 to today, you get the feel of living in a fortress. You can walk the battlements, imagine the knights convening in the Rittersaal, etc. Rooms are totally modern, good size, and the views...

Beautiful castle just minutes away from the highway. A safe haven with friendly service, personal rooms and a good restaurant. I dear say, that it is special even for someone who stays a lot at the hotels, especially considering the great price. Green surrounding also offers great outdoors for various sports (esp. cycling) or just a leisurely walk.

This place was so fascinating. When I first drove onto the property, I was amazed that I would be staying in an ancient castle. The grounds are immaculate and the view of the castle is stunning. There is an archway leading from the parking area into the courtyard i quite gorgeous. I spent at least an hour walking the grounds...

Yeah, I'm really liking it. What a castle, too. My wife and I are in this clean, attractive, very well furnished suite at the top of a tower on our last night in Germany. The reception staff are also very nice. Warning for those with weak hearts or poor fitness; there is a climb for tower rooms, but other rooms...

This was our first stop on our To-Europe Self-drive 8-day Castles and Palace Fairy Tale tour. We were traveling in September 2013. It is a fabulously small castle in a small town about 1.5 hours from Frankfurt. We arrived, checked in, and had dinner. The next morning they actually called to check if we were coming down to breakfast because...

This castle made for a magical stay for my best friend's wedding! The staff were so attentive to the party's needs and provided us with world-class service! The drinks were delicious and reasonably priced and the catered wedding dinner was delectable. All rooms were well-kept and provided us with beautiful castle views. The grounds are pristine and we enjoyed spending...

Best place for wedding ever. Very clean, light rooms with all nessesary environment including iMac on the desk. Romantic atmosphere, nice view to all sides - the hotel is situated in a castle which is surrounded by forests. Very Good kitchen, pleasent stuff. Highly recomended! Also the castle itself is a museum, and its owner sometimes make excursions. One little...

I just have been few times in Schloss Romrod and the hotel is really special. The rooms are a bit different / no standard / and the location of the rooms are interesting. The hotel is in old castel and you have this special taste of history all time. The food is great and the bar is perfect. The room...

Wonderful and historic property with rooms on the simple side, at least my single was, but with a large combo TV and computer (Apple) with perfect wireless access and a well-equipped bathroom, super comfy bed and very cozy bar lounge with many cocktails or just good bear and very nice leather chairs. Breakfast was super. Just one major complaint. The...
