We stayed here for two nights to do the wine tour of the Hunter Valley and we were not disappointed. We had a double room with private bathroom which was very clean and comfortable. The weather was hot but the fan coped well in the room. We loved the swimming pool which we had to ourselves and was clean and...

A fan in the bedroom and the beds have a plastic covering over the mattress, so avoid the place in hot weather. 2 toilets and 2 showers TOTAL for women and 4 hotplates in total to cook on. Floors are boards, so you hear and feel the other guests footsteps or thuds as they walk, with windows rattling when doors...

Very quiet, nice scenery & pool. Easy walk to potters brewery. Stayed in a 4person room with private bathroom. Basic room with modern bathroom and comfortable beds. Happy that we splashed out on local food & wine and saved on accommodation. Would return.

We were 5 families with kids who stayed here over Easter. The YHA was excellent. Great location, lots of room for the kids to play outside, a swimming pool and big verandahs to enjoy a wine at the end of the day. The hosts are lovely and you can hire bikes to visit the local vineyards. I highly recommend this...

We came to the Hunter to view the Xmas lights and came for 2 days. Many of the hotels were charging in excess of $290 per night and we did not want to spend this much considering check-in is 3pm and we would be out and about most of the time hence why we chose a budget hotel. The YHA...

This YHA is the best I've seen in a while: very clean, with a lot of space and things to do (BBQ and wood fire). The landscapes are also stunning! The lady running the place is adorable, she helped us and gave us advice. It's also quite small, so no crowd, no queue for the bathrooms and a very quiet...

I found this to be a good budget option for basing yourself nearby to the Hunter Valley wineries. It's just outside the town of Cessnock itself and it's not in the best location if you don't have a car, but staff will pick you up from Cessnock bus station. Staff were pretty friendly and helpful all round. Bike hire is...

Very helpful staff, warm and welcoming. The place is clean (rooms, toilets and kitchen), the location is beautiful, easy to reach and well positioned to visit the surroundings. It can be cold in the night as there is no heating in the rooms, but beds are plenty of blankets. Slightly overpriced for a backpackers accommodation, but cheaper than anything else...

Came in the coldest part of winter and there wasn't any heater. Water is also only lukewarm. The kitchen had nothing but basic facilities. Everything is just really basic. Staff here are friendly and nice though.
