Victoria Hotel, established in 1930 by late Mr. Kanaran, is set on a cliff overlooking the Arabian Sea. On its grounds are gazebos where guests can enjoy short eats and drinks while watching the sparkling blue of the sea dotted with fishing boats during the day or enjoy a lovely, many-hued sunset at dusk. Gentle sea breezes throughout the day and evening help guests into a calm and relaxing state. Victoria is a 16-bedroom facility with a bar, 24-hour coffee shop and two restaurants. The well appointed rooms with baths make our guests' stay at Victoria a pleasing experience. Adding to the ambience, several rooms overlook the sea, where guests can get to watch sunrises while sipping a hot cup of bed tea or coffee, thanks to room service, and enjoy a continental or Indian breakfast. Right next to the hotel is the Municipal Sea View park with a playground for children. From the park there is a route further down the rocks, where one can sit and fish if one so desires. Typical Kerala Sadyas (meals on plantain leaves) are served at lunch. The restaurants and the coffee shop provide grilled dishes from the tandoor and seafood. The chefs can also whip up the unique Indo-Chinese fare so popular in India. Victoria can be easily reached as it is conveniently located on the national highway NH 17, connecting Panavel (south Mumbai) to Kochi. It is adjacent to District Court, Thalassery.

The staff were surprised to see us there and then let us check in after a wait of 1hour. No one else visits there. Might have been a yesteryears happening spot with seaview bar and restaurant. They are not there anymore.

I loved the location of this Hotel mainly for its location. it is right on top of the sea shore at a height of 40 ft, and on the national high way at Thalassery, connecting calicut and Kannur. The view of the Arabian sea from the restaurant at the rear of the hotels is awesome. We, a group of family friends engaged a small get together in the evening at this location. it was a wonderful and leisure evening we had spent there. We had some snacks and drinks. We had friendly service from the staff. Liqour is also served here

For a seafront hotel, this one was very poor. Externally there were no sun loungers, no external showerarea, hard paved areas almost everywhere, lots of masonry built, steel framed, concrete tile roofed tiki huts. All very 'hard' and not the sort of place where you'd want to spend much time. Restaurant was allegedly Arabic but when I asked if they could do a mezze of such things as hommus, metabel, fatoush etc, the staff didn't know what I was talking about. There was no menu, and we ate mainly egg and cheeses sandwiches plus French fries which was all the staff could offer us apart from chicken byriani which we didn't want. Very few staff understood much English either. Room was ok though and owner or manager did go out of his was to allow a very late check-out and to drop us at the railway station for no extra charge

Situated on National Highway between Thalassery and Kannur, near Cort complex Thalassery. This hotel will amply suite the needs of a weary traveller who had enough of mad traffic between Calicut and Mangalore. Pros (1 & only) view of the Arabian sea from your balcony Cons 1. Slow check in 2. Musky and dark interiors. 3. Poor room service 4. Cracked walls and peeling paint 5. Stained furniture. 6. Poor and slow break fast service. 7. Totally absent net connection. 8. Poor check out service. Stayed at Hotel Victoria for one night. On arrival they could not find my booking over internet. No complementary bottled water in room. The bath room was dirty with no hot water. There were cracks in the walls and paint peeling. On arrival for breakfast at their restaurant, had to wait 25 minutes for it. On check out their POS machine was not working and had to find cash to pay them. AND THEY FORGOT TO GIVE ME MY BILL. I will not recommend this Hotel for tourists.

The room was great overlooking the sea and has a balcony with fantastic view, but there are hardly any service available. The first thing to notice is the dirty run-down condition of the lobby. When we were there, the hotel could not offer any service due to some marriage function. The bathroom looks dirty, but has a great shower. Difficult to get even a chair in the balcony. The decor and furniture are of poor quality. They have a sea facing well located restaurant, but it never seemed to be in use by locals or residents.

This hotel is nicely situated on the shore of the sea, having a fabulous view from the room balcony. Besides, Service , Quality of room and Cleanliness is very ordinary that never suit for this location. As I entered inside the property , I could feel the olfactory system. Restaurant serves very basic breakfast , was included in the plan.

An excellent sea view hotel. After having check-in trouble, as I had booked through travelguru (& hotel apparently had broken tie-up with travel guru), the manager helped me out & gave us a sea view room (205). Big problem was it had two separate beds. View of room-excellent Connectivity with Thallasery: Excellent Service of hotel: Bit poor Food of hotel: I didnot try. But looks like restaurant is predominantly for drinking. It has got sea view restaurant but was occupied by drinking groups. It has got good bar as well. It is good base for Mulapalingad beach, only drive in beach of India. There are 2-3 restaurants near by, serving local cuisine.

Me and my friend's family visited the place last week and booked two rooms. One double bad(with balcony and sea view) and one tripple bed room(no sea view, road side). Rooms are clean. Tripple bed room was big and clean. But it's on road side, so you will start getting vehical sound from morning 5:00 !! No hot water in the morning till 8:30AM and they arrange two bucket of hot water. As per them they have started solar at 8:00 AM and god knows how much time it will take.. Some of the thing in breakfast got over at 9:30... As it's heritage property they can not modify it, but I feel they can maintained it well. I am giving 4 start because they allowed us to wash our car ourselves after driving on drive-in beach!!!

We have stayed in this hotel for two nights . Our experience is really not up to the mark. Service is terrible and has lot of lag. Also bed in one of the room collapsed once occupied. Complementary Wifi does not work properly Complementary breakfast was offered , but restaurant guys are not co operative and there were considerable delays. Menu in the restaurant were pricey compared to the quality. Saving grace was the breath-taking sea view from the hotel balcony and also there are seating places available just by the sea to have lunch, dinner along with drinks. Mr. Arvind the hotel booking executive was very generous and co-operative. Service needs major improvement.
