The old style building, large rooms, big bathrooms all add to make this a great location. The dinner was excellent and since we had another couple traveling with us, enough variety was provided in the food. Unfortunately, the three adults all developed a fairly bad reaction to the food which marred the otherwise pleasant stay.

From reviews I have read many people love this place. We were unfortunate to arrive just as a party official had been hacked to death close by resulting in a 24 hour total shut down which affected all of Kerala. So no market or cigarette factory visits but a good walk led by lovely but quiet guide (Alan?) around the area taking in the empty streets where the market usually is, 4 places of worship, the fort and a Theyyam (apologies for spelling) which was fascinating. We were also unfortunate in that Moussa was not there - he had left early for a prior engagement due to the strike. The misfortune continued .... The pool was not clean. The wifi was not working. The room safe (a relief to see after the comments made about cash going missing) did not work. Mosquito nets were missing

The rooms were luxurious and comfortable, the bathrooms big and clean, the service excellent, the food was to die for, and the host and hostess were very attentive and wonderful people. My family and I had a fantastic time. The view was breathtaking.

After leaving a beautiful 5 star hotel, we did take a little while to adjust to Aisha Manzil!! Beautiful food and cookery class was so enjoyable. I did find the area to be very noisy and busy, not what we really wanted for our tour of India.
