We stayed here for one night on the way to the West Country: it's a cosy country inn, sandwiched between the river and canal. Our comfortable room was at the back with its own little terrace onto the river. We had drinks in front of the log fire before a good dinner (roast lamb and roast belly pork were both...

Sadly, we have to agree with the majority of the recent reviews (perhaps I should have looked at these before booking). We stayed a Saturday night, arriving late afternoon. We stayed in one of the waterside rooms, which probably wasn't necessary given it was winter (it would be nice in summer). The room was small, but the bed very comfortable....

If this is a jewel in the crown of the Epicurean Collection who own it, it's a fake. The staff, some of whom speak a little English, have little to no training and thus the establishment is void of soul, spirit, passion and personality. It strives for shabby chic, mastering the former and totally missing the latter. Breakfast would fit...

My wife and I and our two dogs stayed at the Dundas Arms on New Years Eve in one of the ground floor Riverside rooms with a patio area by the river. These are recommended for guests staying with dogs. The double rooms are a nice size, as is the bathroom with a shower over the bath. Considering the price...

We're Aussies living in the UK so having no family here we thought we'd try a Xmas break. We went to the Dundas Arms for lunch one Saturday in November, liked it, saw the ad for their Xmas break and thought we'd give it a try. It didn't start well but that was completely my fault. I'd forgotten to tell...

Seven of us stayed here before a shoot. It provided warm welcome, pleasant location, good beer (hobgoblin?), good dinner and comfortable rooms. Breakfast too was of good quality. I was a bit nervous beforehand, having read some unenthusiastic reviews, but this was an enjoyable stay in a traditional English country inn with really good food. And a bonus was having...

The dinner was fine, the room decor tasteful 'Notting Hill grey' , the pub decor pleasing BUT the lighting needs sorting AND simple things like (as others have mentioned) no soap or shampoo in the bathroom. No, we didn't bring it to the attention of the staff because WE SHOULDNT HAVE TO. We'd brought some shampoo so made do with...

It breaks my heart writing this review as this is my local pub, however after giving this pub so many chances, i can't understand how they keep messing up the food. On paper their menu is exciting and you will have trouble deciding what to order.... when in reality when your food arrives it resembles nothing like it was described...

Two of us went for a pub lunch after a gap of many years. The bar room was scruffy and unwelcoming and the staff bored and disinterested. My fish and chips were particularly below average. The batter on the smallish piece of fish was soggy and tasteless, the chips were McCains? and the crushed peas probably frozen. My friend's fishcakes...

Wonderful location on the edge of the canal and river, the property is old and interesting but also dated and needs a good old fashioned clean and freshen up! Room was ok, tv was tiny and my shower did not work properly, otherwise fine. Chose to eat a burger in the evening which to be honest was terrible, arrived in...
