We spent 5 lovely relaxing days in La Ciderarie Gite at Orchard Gites. Alison, the host, is really helpful and although she lives on site is never intrusive. Her dog Fudge is equally as welcoming. The Gite is well equipped with all that is required for a self catering break. It's outdoor table was well utilised by us for breakfasts...

I don't think it would matter how long you spent at Orchard Gites, it would never be enough. The Gites and grounds were beautiful. I came there to do sightseeing and art and it was a perfect place to do both. Close to the town of Tinchebray and amongst the countryside. Alison was so welcoming and knowledgeable in art. I...

I had no idea Basse Normandie was so lushly beautiful - and Alison's wonderful gite (we stayed in the Laiterie) slots nicely into the general splendour. Among rolling hills near the village of Saint-Quentin-les-Chardonnets, it's within a five-minute drive of Tinchebray, a pleasant town with a well-equipped supermarket, boulangeries, and the added bonus of the chapel of Ste Marie -...

Such a warm welcome from Alyson in this cosy house with a lovely garden, we were bed & breakfast but there are Gites there as well, Alyson cooked the most delicious three course meal for us one of the best we had during our stay in France

This is our second holiday at Orchard Gites, And we loved it even more . Its a wonderful location. In the heart of the beautiful countryside but only 10 mins to the more lively Vire. We visited Vire on Market day and the whole place just comes to life. Then back to the wonderful gardens at Orchard Gites. We went...

We stopped here for a quiet retreat for 4 nights. Upon arrival Alison was very friendly and welcoming. The Gite was spotlessly clean and had all of the facilities that you need (cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, electric heaters...). The Gite is positioned around 1hrs drive from the port of Caen and the main sightseeing attractions of the D day landing...

My partner and I stayed here last month for 5 nights and had the most wonderful time. The gite itself was warm and welcoming with all the necessary amenities (although if you need anything the owner, Alison, is more than happy to help). It is placed in a most beautiful and peaceful setting which made us the most relaxed we...

Just had a wonderful time in Orchard gites, Alison was a great host and her little dog Fudge was a fun visitor. The place was a retreat from the bustling world, and the itinerary Alison came up with really came in useful. Would highly recommend this gite if you like the peace of country life and don't mind driving to...

We have just returned from our stay at Orchard Gites and what a hidden gem this is. Our host Alison went out of her way to make us feel welcome, from the arrival gift to helpful advice on the local amenities and activities. Having as English host makes it so much easier to deal with, from the initial booking to...

Thank you so much for a great review - I am pleased that you enjoyed your holiday here and were able to explore this corner of Normandy. I know that you enjoyed visiting some of the many chateaux in the area - this is definitely a good place to stay if you have an interest in history! As you mentioned,...
