Hill n Dale farm cottages exceeded all our expectations. Coming from Perth our gOl was to see a wombat in the wild and we DID . It was amazing to see these beautiful creatures in what I can only describe as a magical storybook setting. Beautiful stringy bark gums, lovely cost cottages with gorgeous colourful birds on our verandah every... More

What a great spot to rejuvenate. Up in the mountains and amongst towering trees of the southern forests, your only company are the parrots who hang around to be fed and a wombat who snuffles round at night. Walk up the road to see ferns taller than yourself and attempt to get a picture of the upper forest canopy way... More

We spent 2 nights here with a one year old and we had a great time. We could have stayed indoors all weekend, watching the views and enjoying the peace and quiet but we had already planned a day trip to Puffing Billy, which we also enjoyed. Great place to stay as a couple or as a family and would... More

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Mount View Cottage. Relaxation kicked in almost as soon as we arrived and we felt miles away from the city. We didn't leave the property at all for the weekend but instead read and relaxed by the log fire, went for a couple of lovely walks near the cottage (the walk up to... More

This is a relaxing place on a small farm close far enough away from the city bustle yet close enough for a WE trip. Healsville is about a 20 min drive and has a Coles for supplies. We stayed in the Mt View cottage which is a little dearer but does have a great view over the valley from the... More

This is definitely NOT a terrible place. I really really loved it. The owners were pleasant and hands on and every ready to help with a smile. Why then the poor review? Simple answer, expectations vs reality. Problem One: I booked this lovely place based on the positive reviews from trip advisor and wrote in to check on the available... More

The cottages are very well maintained and really like to say a BIG THANK YOU to the great hospitality of the hosts, Eddy and his partner, Fiona. We are a big group of twelve with elderly and young kids. With such a vast age differences, it's really v challenging to meet all sort of unexpected requests and needs. The hosts... More

Great location in a cosy, wood-fire heated cottage. No reception so it is great to switch off and enjoy the walks, wombat spotting, farm animal feeding, spa baths and watching one of the many DVDs available to borrow (free!). The well stocked kitchenette (cooking oil, salt and pepper, pots and pans, etc), surprise breakfast basket and complimentary on-site grown hazelnuts... More

We all had the most wonderful trip away with our two young boys. They enjoyed helping feed the farm animals and adventuring around the property whilst keeping in touch with us via walkie talkies kindly supplied by the lovely management. We were even given some lovely homemade cake for afternoon tea. As we were away for my birthday (during May)... More
