My wife found this gem as a place to meet up and have lunch with family when we crossed paths to and from Cornwall. What a delightful choice. We all enjoyed a wonderful lunch, drink, and chat en route to our weekend break. Food was gorgeous, staff very friendly, and the historic inn quaint.

Had Sunday lunch here today, the food was first class, will be returning soon. Very warm with log fires on a very cold day. One of the best sunday lunches we have had for a long time. Very friendly, quaint old fashioned place.

Back again to our favourite bolt hole for rest and recuperation. As ever , the reception as warm and welcoming as we have become accustomed to in the years of frequenting this unique establishment. A very up to date menu with new choices and including changes to the breakfast options. We also have snow. Perfect.

Run by super friendly and professional Simon and Lynne, we had an amazing time there the weekend of 28/1/17. Very welcoming, accommodating and in general the best hotel stay in Devon EVER! We had the Bovey room and were very impressed with all it had to offer. The evening meal in the restaurant was lovely and charming plus the Porterhouse...

Family of 12 booked lunch here for mum's 80th birthday. Could not fault the place - they had set up a lovely area for us in a private dining room with heaps of character, and were extremely attentive and welcoming without being intrusive. Food was excellent - steaks were awesome. This was our second visit, and we wouldn't hesitate to...

Our room was very comfortable and well appointed. The old fashioned features added heaps of character to the hotel. Ore dinner at the restaurant was very tasty and the atmosphere was terrific. The little street where our hotel was gorgeous.
