run down, old motel. needs some updating and care and attention. BUT it does have everything you need and is clean. toiletries, even a sewing kit, microwave, fridge, coffee/tea. iron/ironing board. free Wi-Fi. staff helpful. reasonably priced. just outside Banff, you cannot walk to it, but a ten minute drive away. if you are looking for someone to just get...

The general presentation of the hotel is one of a motel in the 80s. The feel is old. On the other hand this motel is located just outside Banff National Park and only 10-15 minutes from Banff, so if you have a car, this is a cheaper alternative to more centrally located accommodation, with good access to what you want...

Location was good. Very close to Canmore & Banff. Close to highway but traffic was quiet at night. There is a train track across the highway. Woke me up but no one else in the family. Place was dated but compared to the cost of other places, it was worth the value. We were out all day so it didn't...

Was over priced for cost. No air conditioner. Friendly enough owner but had to keep window open to stay cool. Smelled smoke from near by fire. TV needs updating. Blanket needed washing. There was a lot of noise from inside the building. Windows need replacing slso

We are not over priced, we are generally the more reasonably priced motel in this area. All TV's are updated with 32 inch flat screens and all have 30 plus cable channels. Free wifi for all guests. All blankets and sheets are washed and clean every single day. We do not have air conditioning but we do offer a fan...

Not exactly what we thought when we booked...fairly old establishment and maybe past it's use by date. though in their favor the place was pretty clean and they are trying. The room we had was very acceptable though a pain to get things upto the 2nd floor due to a information rack sitting at the bottom of the stairs leaving...

We are only 3 minutes ,driving, from Canmore and 17 minutes from Banff. We are easy excess to all shopping, information booth and down town Canmore. Yes, we are an old motel, but we are clean and tidy. We try hard to make our guests feel comfortable. All the signs are not hand written, but typed and neat, they are...

Sadly we arrived on a cold day with no pre heating in the room. This made a very poor impression for a prebooked room. The only place one could watch some TV was from the bed. Needed more pillows available. A small table and 2 seats with metal backing were in the room, but were not comfortable to sit on....

We found the room clean and the beds comfortable, however, the ceiling creaked terribly from people walking around on the floor above us. Talking & laughter from the floor above was also very noticeable, but the constant noise from people walking around had my husband & I finally go for earplugs at midnight in order to sleep. It is close...

Stayed here for one night on our way to BC. Clean, great view, good price! I like that you get 4 towels in a double room, hate when they just give you 2. Never used the bbq but it's nice that they have it. There is a little room with 2 vending machines which is handy.

Good value for money considering the region. Location is a major plus for us as we prefer not to sleep inside the town; it's ~3 min from the outskirts of Canmore and ~15 min from Banff which is perfect for travelling the surroundings of both. Only major con - it's located right off the highway and although the sound is...

I've stayed in many hotel/motel rooms in my life. Anywhere from Fairmont properties to run down motel's on the side of the highway. I was actually quite pleased with the Gateway Inn. As other's have pointed out, the decor isn't up to date, however the owners/operators have done an excellent job keeping the place clean. There is a HUGE difference...
