Despite having to rearrange dates we enjoyed excellent service and accomodation and a quite delicious celebration evening meal. However, despite considerable attention to detail and design inside, the welcoming effect was spoilt by the hanging baskets outside, remaining unattended in June and the garden surrounding the building in need of care and attention. A blue bottle fly had drowned itself...

My husband and I initially booked to stay somewhere else, however after arriving in Devon and after numerous issues we spontaneously booked in at Swallows Eaves. Upon arriving, Dorothy made us feel like family and welcomed us warmly. She gave us excellent advice on where to visit and what to do in the local vicinity. Our room was immaculate and...

We booked on the strength of previous reviews. Clean, warm and comfortable and the soft colour palette throughout was relaxing. Breakfast was very good; the staff friendly and efficient. After a long journey we appreciated having booked a table in the restaurant - the food was good. Dorothy, the proprietor, works very hard to ensure that everything runs smoothly and...

We booked all the rooms for family/friends to attend a nearby wedding. Everyone was very pleased with the hotel, the service, friendliness and overall standard - and it added to what was a wonderful weekend for us

We booked this hotel at rather short notice because of its very good on-line reviews. The staff were friendly and welcoming when we arrived about 4 hours after making our booking. Our room on the first floor was quiet and immaculately prepared, also we found the bed very comfortable. We only stayed for one night but we shall return for...

Booked this hotel as it had good reviews and looked inviting from the pictures on web site. We were not disappointed, the room was clean, well furnished and the king size bed extremely comfortable. Big bathroom with excellent shower and nice fluffy white towels. We also ate in Reeds the restaurant attached to the hotel and the food was first...

We had stayed at Swallows Eaves a number of years ago and it was excellent then - however, it is even better now after some refurbishments. Namely a new lounge/restaurant extension and the bedrooms/bathrooms have been upgraded. We booked half board and the food couldn't have been better. All in all a lovely relaxing getaway in a beautiful part of...

Booked as a short break away from the trials and tribulations of selling our house. Room was very comfortable with all the necessary tea and coffee making facilities. Bathroom excellent. Everywhere was spotlessly clean throughout. Making a perfect stress free break.

Booked as a birthday break for my husband. Lovely, comfy, airy room. Clean and shiny bathroom with possibly the most powerful shower we have ever stood under, wonderful! Nothing was too much trouble for Dorothy or her staff, including providing for my dairy free needs! We booked half board and the food did not disappoint, it was cooked, presented and...

Our room and ensuite were beautifully clean, with lovely handwash etc provided. The hospitality tray provided all we could wish for in tea and coffee choices. Our room was light and airy, the beds so comfortable that despite considerable pain I slept well every night. We booked half-board.The evening meals were beautifully cooked and presented, and endless trouble was taken...
