Took small group to this wonderful spot as a surprise. Love the old Inn, the spectacular views of the bay area and the cabins along the trail for sleeping. Jim, the caretaker host was absolutely the best. My guests were very impressed and enjoyed the entire experience.

The place was crowded (just on the pancakes brunch Sunday) but they managed really well. It's a great opportunity to get brunch in the middle of nature and hike around (they make pancakes Sundays 6 times a year). Even though the place was packed, they showed us around the place and explained how you can spend nights at the cabins...

Definitely recommend this place. We hiked up the Matt Davis trail from the Mount Home Inn. A very relaxing trail. It was much quicker to come down the railroad grade, but not as covered or scenic. Highlights of the stay were watching the fog creep in around dusk and then waking up early to watch the sky change beautiful colors...
