I stayed at the George recently. The food was absolutely excellent, the real ales were very good in deed. The staff very helpful and the room was more than adequate. I was made welcome by all the staff and they couldn't do enough for me. Breakfast good as well. I recommend the place!

We were warmly welcomed by the owners, they are a very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. We stayed for New years eve, and although it was very quiet, it was a lovely evening. The food was excellent on both days of our stay, even the locals are welcoming. We would stay here again, which we hope to do...

A comfortable small hotel (5 rooms, all en suite), well furnished and decorated throughout. There is a large Bar (Cask Marque beers) plus Games Room and a Beer Garden. The Staff were very welcoming and efficient. Enjoyable Yorkshire breakfast. A walk through the Village to the Church (St. Mary’s – part of which dates from Saxon times) is recommended.

We stopped off for one night on the way home from Scotland - the pub seems to be a Young Farmers' meeting point which added to the lively atmosphere and Wath itself is a very attractive period village. We were greeted very warmly and shown to our room which was modern, warm and comfortable if not overly large. We had...

We stayed for 2 nights midweek at The George as we wished to visit Ripon (with its magnificant cathedral), Thorp Perrow arboretum, Bedale (with its independent shops) and Masham(with its attractive square). We found The George friendly and welcoming: the staff, accommodation and food were all excellent and good value. As Wath is easily accessible from the A1 (2 miles)...
