We've been looking for a pleasant overnight stop to make our regular place to stay on our way to the north. The York room is pleasantly large, with a beautifully (refurbished?) bathroom, and the little touches such as the home made cookies made us hopeful...More

We recently visited The George for an evening meal with friends. Very clean, nicely decorated with friendly knowledgeable staff. Our two courses were excellent and the staff were attenitive throughout. We will probably try a lunch next time but we have already recommended this place...More

Stayed here on route to Scotland. Had a lovely relaxed feel in the bar. Dogs welcome.lovely decor and great staff. Perfect for those wanting an authentic old village with modern amenities. Breakfast great
