While on holiday in Whitby we went to visit friends in Ripon. We booked to stay at The George and had a great stay. The rooms were really nice and the food was lovely. Staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The best part for us is that we could take our dog with us. Wath Ian...

Lovely hospitality and quiet local. The rooms were spotless with everything required for an overnight stay. Great wee pub with super food and realistic prices. Perfect stop over from a long journey. We loved it.

A beautiful secluded hotel/pub serving the picturesque village of Wath. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. They were happy to arrange early check in. The room was small but cosy and very comfortable. The little touches of home baked brownies and sweetie jar on the amply stocked hospitality tray were very warmly received. With free wifi readily available throughout...

The George is set in a picturesque North Yorkshire village. The welcome was very friendly and the layout of the building adds a dimension of intrigue as you wind your way to the rooms. The rooms are warm and cosy, the beds are deep and inviting. The evening menu looked great. I had made plans to go to out that...

Booked this hotel on the day through another website The staff couldn't do more to help. Extremely friendly and hardworking - the young lady doing reception, serving, bar, showing us to our room! Rooms clean, comfortable and full of amenities. The food was sublime. I'm shocked the chef hasn't been snapped up by a top restaurant! Overall. I can't praise...

We stayed only for one night after a long day at the races. Check in was very easy and the girl on reception (sorry didn't get her name) was really helpful. She spent ages on the phone trying to get us a taxi to the racecourse as did the owner. Immaculately presented room with everything you would expect to find...

Outside this pub looks very unprepossessing and it's due for a fresh lick of paint. Inside the traditional pub furniture has been replaced with smart modern furniture although the 1950s style dining chairs are not the most comfortable. There is a 12-seat small restaurant adjacent to the bar that looked very smart and comfortable. The other character lies at the...
