I can not go on enough about how much I loved this place! I sat on my porch every evening and watched dozens of bird species in the beautiful garden on my lawn: sunbirds, mousebirds, Grey Parrots in the tulip tree, hornbills, etc. (I stayed in the Robin-chat room.) This lodge is a must for birders!
The lodge is on an gorgeous estate surrounded by tea fields and mountains. The view from the Robin Chart was amazing. The staff was really nice and especially the manager and the guy at the bar was fun to talk with - didn't get their names though. Food was good - and their rolex amazing.
Such a lovely place with spacious and beautiful lodges and common areas. Very kind staff and good food! Placed perfectly within close distance to Kibale National forest and the Kibale wetlands. View from the room was amazing and the beds were so good! They get our warmest recommendations.
I stayed here for two nights and would do again. The staff are great and the service efficient. The lodges are very comfortable, clean and beautifully decorated. The restaurant has a large deck, perfect for relaxing with a cold drink, or if you prefer your privacy you can enjoy the view from your own mini veranda. Perfect for couples, but also great for solo travellers and groups. A quiet place to relax and unwind.
Loved the place. Main house is British colonial so typical of an estate managers house that you see all over Southern Africa in Zambia, Kenya, Malawi, Zimbabwe for example. Typical British architecture complete with concrete floors coated with "stop polish". The eating area has beautiful views over the tea plantations and the palm tree in front gets regular visits from rare palm nut Vultures (great if you are a birder). Guest rooms clean and once more beautiful views. Highly recommend this place
I stayed here for one night with a friend whilst in Kibale National park to see the chimpanzees, and I wish we could have stayed longer! The grounds are beautiful, the room was lovely, very clean and spacious. Food was great and the staff were amazing. Thank you!
Calling all birders and ecologists! They have at least 20 bird species, all on the grounds (trees, flowers and lawn) and the staff was very knowledgeable about the species if you ask- Especially Godfrey, who studied ecology and tourism in school, and is very friendly and welcoming. Overall, this was an amazing space to stay. They grow most of the food you will get with meals ON SITE- which has a nice ecotourism aspect as well as deliciousness! Therefore, we definitely recommend doing full or half board here. The views are spectacular and staff is accommodating (Thank you Nicholas)
Stayed in this beautiful property while at Kibale NP to see the Chimpanzee. The grounds too the lodge are kept in immaculate condition with beautiful views all round. The sleeping lodge are individual and again finished and maintained very well. Food at the restaurant is good and the staff are always on hand too help with any requests. Highly recommend and very done too the team. A pleasure to stay with you.
I think I fell in love with this place. My review title basically says it all. I can't say enough about how courteous and accommodating the entire staff was. They get it. The food, too, was top-notch. Lovely, clean and comfy room. Plenty of hot water. Full electric and wireless. Birds and wildlife in abundance. (Even watched some nesting woodpeckers! And tons of treefrogs!) Views to die for, a small tea plantation and well-manicured gardens add to the ambience and landscape.
This lodge was made of a lot of very great details. The garden is wonderful, water comes from the Crater Lake nearby without electrical or Diesel pump, warming it will make in special ovens using natural material- for each Banda an own one. The Bandas have a roof of gras, a separate large bathroom and an easy and beautiful furnitures and accesories. Surrounded by tea and coffee plantations, with ananas and banana gardens, and a direct view to Kibale Forest and the Frog Crater Lake, in the morning you can hear the Chimps and the Blue Turaco and the Hornbill are living around the lodge. If you have luck you can find also Ibis, Eagles, Grey Parrots. All is possible here :-) The dishes are very good, the wine and its price also. And not at least we have to thanks the great Staff. We love this place and will come back as soon as possible .…
