Would you pay 130 Fijian a night for: Not being greeted in person when you arrive? Walking over a festering polluted stream to get to your homestay, which ensured you were separate from the rest of the village? A broken glass and rubbish strewn beach and a burnt rubbish pit beside your cabin? A dead dog on the beach and...

We stayed in the family cabin, newly built, right on the beach. The view out the door was straight onto the beach. The hosts, Tupoe and Sake, were lovely and helpful but not interfering. My husband was happy to lie in the hammock and read books while I explored the village a bit more and chatted to the locals. We...

This was our second trip to Fiji - coral coast, but first to Danny's Homestay. The Homestay is located at the far end of the village right on the beach. We were greeted by Tapou and numerous village kids. My younger daughter , 4, immediately loved the kids with all the puppies and kittens, and spent the next 2 days...

We agree with all the comments made by other travellers already. We travelled with our young daughter (2yrs) and had a brilliant time. We were fortunate enough to be there on the annual village festival day, where all the families raise money towards the village projects. Plenty of kava was drunk by all, my husband was powdered - see the...

A stay with Tupou and Sake is an authentic stay in Fiji. At first, arrival is nervous: What is this like, will we be bombarded with shady characters, etc? To save money, we took the local long-distance bus from Nadi to Namatakula, which itself was another experience to remember as we exited the bus with no idea which direction to...

Originally planned to stay 2 nights, extended it to 4 nights. Accomadation includes three delicious meals. This is a beach front property, with rich foliage, basic but clean accomations, and the star gazing on the beach is amazing. Much to do, planned school visit, shopping visit to Sigatoka, watching the rugby league train on the beach, kava nights and church...

Just back from our stay at Danny's in the Village of Namatakula. I was there with my 2 x adult children and 2 friends. Ages - 21, 22, 23, 44 & 53. 4 girls - one guy (23). We were picked up from Nadi, for the 5 of us the cost was F$150 which was really good, but if you...

This was our 6th trip to Fiji and by far our best family holiday. Watching our two boys aged 9 & 12 with the local village children was absolutely priceless. They played, sang, swam, laughed, went to school, snorkled, climbed trees, had endless bilabial races, played with the puppies, had a huge bonfire and dinner on the beach, made so...

Every vacation has that moment that you know you'll remember forever and for us that moment was the time we spent at Danny's Homestay. Sake, Tupou, Henry, Luisa, Cassa and Joanna couldn't have been nicer or more welcoming. We truly feel that we've made new friends in Fiji and are so thankful to have gotten the chance to experience Fiji...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hello! We are Sake and Tupou, the owners of Danny's Village Homestay. We welcome you to come and stay with us! We are part of Namatakula village, a traditional Fijian village on the Coral Coast. We have operated our homestay since 2010 and have had guests from all around the world. We have cabins for families, groups, singles and couples. All cabins are just metres from the beach. Our price is $100FJ per person per night for adults and $65FJ for children. Activities available include horse riding, canoeing, massage, fishing and tours (Sigatoka market, village, school, waterfalls, etc). We have heard another place is calling itself Danny's Guesthouse, but we are the original on the beach and we are still operating. ... more   less
