For a newer hotel, the rooms have not aged well. Furniture is very cheap and showing wear. For example: Veneer on table leg hanging off, couch had cuts/chunks missing, stains on the walls and carpets. Room was not cleaned well which is a concern during covid.
We stayed at the Home Inn & Suites for one night while driving across Canada. The hotel is ideally situated just off of the Trans Canada Highway and right next to several restaurants and shopping areas which was very convenient. It is a pet friendly hotel. The room was well appointed and modern. The breakfast was very good too. There is a pool with a hot tub which was nice and relaxing after a long day of driving.
The mixup with room - given standard not family suite (which they fixed) - the suite not properly cleaned - layers of dust on vent grill, stains on desk, dirt on furniture, layers of dirt on grout / TV didn’t work and was not fixed until next day.
Didn't have any issues with the hotel. The next morning we found that our vehicle had be vandalized. While I realize that it was not the hotels fault - I was disappointed that they did nothing to try and rectify the situation. Very disappointed & will not be staying again.
So we stayed two nights, It would have been a perfect stay except they didn’t come clean our room when Requested to do so ! For the price you pay and asked to request for a clean room and get none .. probably won’t stay again . :-(
A positive experience on the whole. Breakfasts were very good -selection was larger than most other places on my trip. Beds were comfortable, rooms were clean. Staff was helpful. Appreciated the gym was available 24/7 and the close proximity to restaurants, but yet is a very quiet location. Price was good. Only negative was that the hot tub wasn't working.
From the super friendly check in to the texts seeing how the room was , it was a great stay! The room was very clean and very comfortable down to the pillows! The location is close to all you need and access to most of the city. Pool looked nice , didn’t use it this time.
In these times we were looking for a place where we could feel safe. We booked the suite with a full kitchen. It was great for hosting Christmas. Needed a table and 4 chairs, an extra table setting - they were quick to help out. Covid protocol. Didn't ask to show vaccine, so obviously both vaxxed and unvaxxed were staying there. They had a free buffet breakfast. Other hotels have servers so there is only one person touching the dishes. Not here, free for all. Provincial mandate to wear masks inside public buildings and in restaurants. Not here people were walking around lobby and food area without masks. They even were at the front desk without masks and it was not enforced. Swimming pool. Other hotels book a time for the occupants of your room to use the pool just for you. Not here. Everyone and anyone can use the pool. Clean? Surface clean. We dropped something in the couch and it was disgusting. So if every nook and cranny isn't cleaned you can be sure extra cleaning isn't done for Covid. Didn't see anything to make us feel they were going above and beyond. Very nice facility, the staff is friendly and helpful. Do we feel that everything has been done to follow Covid protocols and keep us safe? Maybe not. In these tough times supporting local is so important. But when other hotels are going above and beyond you might want to check for one of those hotels. Great place if you don't care about keeping your family and friends safe.…
This is really a tale of two hotels, as I was here for two nights, a Friday and a Saturday. The first night I would have given it only three stars, if that; the second night it improved to four stars. The reason was that on Saturday it was very noisy until about 11:30 PM. This was not entirely the fault of the hotel, as they had some guests who seemed unable or unwilling to stop their children from running up and down the halls, even at that late hour. The second night those guests were gone, and the hotel was quiet. However, it does bring up one issue with the hotel. The doorways into the hall from the rooms have a gap of more than 1 cm at the bottom, which means any noise from the hallways is clearly heard in the rooms. The hotel could help minimize this problem by installing proper door jambs or mouldings on the door, so the gap would be smaller; other hotels I have stayed at have this, and it is very helpful. Having said that, the room was large and comfortable, with a good-size computer work desk with comfortable office-type chair. It also had a large bathroom with a good-sized shower. Everything was clean. One plus is that rooms have windows that open. The only negative was the chair beside the window, which, while comfortable when you were in it, was so low that it almost required a crane to haul me back into a standing position. It doesn't appear to adjustable for height. I found the front desk people to be helpful and friendly. One of them even remembered that I had been carrying a camera, and stopped me as I was coming in to the hotel to ask if the camera lens cover that he had found in the stairway belonged to me. (It did). That is exceptional service. Unfortunately I didn't see his name, but thank-you, whoever you were. The breakfast was a standard chain hotel breakfast. The breakfast room is really undersized for this hotel when it is at full occupancy, as was true the first morning. Every table and chair was occupied, and many people had to take their breakfasts back to the room. The second morning, when the hotel was not as full, there were enough seats for everyone who wanted to stay and eat in the breakfast room. The hotel is in area with a fair amount of retail close by, including groceries and restaurants, and the location right by Circle Drive is convenient for access from the main highways. Overall, a good experience, marred by some inconsiderate guests.…
Booked a two night stay here (Wed/Thur night) as a staycation for our kiddos owing to the main fact that their pool area was open all day and looked good from other reviews. We booked into a King room on the 4th floor after switching from a two Queen bedroom - this switch was done seamlessly by staff. Our rooms were fine - I would say compared to others I have stayed at they were a bit on the smaller side, but they were comfortable nonetheless. We had no issues with cleanliness or any other deficiencies in the room. Upon request, an assortment of kitchen utensils and cooking tools can be delivered to the room, which we did take advantage of. We interacted with a number of staff during our stay and all were friendly and helpful. Two special shoutouts go to Jenn and Ryan at the front desk - both were super helpful even with the challenge of apparently having to do the work of multiple people. Despite this - those two employees were awesome and deserve a special shout out. The pool area we used quite a bit. It was good - our kids enjoyed both the hot tub and larger pool area, and to a lesser degree the water slide. They allow you to only book in 30 minute time slots due to COVID-19 regulations, but we had no issues with this. The hotel is also in a very convenient location. Very close to Preston/Circle Drive, there are grocery stores, fast food, restaurants and coffee shops all within walking distance. It’s a very quiet area but has many amenities close by which we took advantage of.…
