Beautiful location in the heart of Old Fort Quebec City Stone brick manor hotel that really has not modern amenities, no phone in roon, no elevator to third floor with spiral stairways. It feels like you have been transported back to 1849. Really cool and rooms on Third Floor are nice with very small bathrooms but who cares when you... More

We stayed for two days and found the hotel perfectly located for our day trips to old Quebec. Cute, European feel to the rooms and loved the stone walls. Wifi is weak on the third floor but works pretty well if you lay the phone on the floor. Staff was friendly.

The hotel is just adequate and expensive for what you get. All that you really need is there but nothing more. There is no lift/elevator and the Wi-Fi is only available at reception. Parking has to be at a nearby municipal car park for $18 a day. One can hear the muffled sounds of other inmates in their rooms. It... More

Tired little B&B, like they don't care anymore. Decorated from the 90's and 00's mixed, not to the period, not new. Room and bathroom were wiped down but not clean, some mold in the bathroom tub. Worse was only one shampoo/soap, a dispenser in the shower that was empty and kept falling off the wall. To wash your hands you... More

On paper and at first glance this hotel and room#9 in particular have all the amenities one expects in a tourist type guest house. On the plus side we were able to reserve, the front door is secured after 9pm, great care was taken to create "atmosphere" by show casing the old wall along the stair case. The room was... More

My boyfriend and I went for four days to celebrate my birthday and wanted to stay 'within the wall'. The typical hotel I stay in was booked so I chose Maison du General and was very happy that I did so. The location is perfect as you do not have to move your vehicle the whole time you are visiting... More

This hotel is situated on one of the busiest roads in Old Quebec, which makes it very handy for going out, however it also means that there is potential for street noise at night. We were lucky in having rooms to the rear of the property which were quiet. The rooms were tiny, with a double bed and chest of... More

Reasonable price with great location. DO NOT get a Room # 1 !!!! It's a foot away from busy sidewalk and entrance. Until 10 at night, it's like havin a room in the lobby or sidewalk. Would not have stayed here if I'd known about room location.

My favorite hotel in Quebec City was just too expensive this summer. So, I took a chance on this hotel that had received mixed reviews. I must say I enjoyed staying here. Yes the hotel is almost 130 years old however it was comfortable, clean, and charming! Our room was on the main floor and to the front but I... More

Just stayed here Thursday thru Monday. The only good thing about the hotel was that indeed it was located in Old Quebec. The downside of that is that it is right on Rue St Louis the main street going into the city! Perhaps if your room is in the back of the hotel it was better but we were right... More
