I have stayed in many mediocre hotels in Third World countries and I am used to bad hotels but this one was beyond terrible.I did not have high expectations but this was not a place for comfort or rest. It should not even be called a hotel . To have a bed in storage room which the walls of it...

1. looked so different in person than in real life that I had to double check we were in the right place 2. Had such unfriendly front desk staff that they couldn't be bothered to hear major complaints 3. The room I was given on arrival was not the one I had booked and paid for 4. Was so obviously...

This hotel looks fabulous on the different booking websites, as well as its own. I have no idea who the amazingly talented freelancer they hired was, but he/she is the equivalent of a medieval alchemist, transforming mere shocking filth into extraordinary gold. It was the offer of a rare discount, coupled by the photos, that suggested to me that i'd...

The location is great, you are in the middle of everything. Walking distance from downtown, the gay village, the old port as well as old Montreal. My husband and I got a room with a shared bathroom. While the bedroom was very small, it was perfect for the two of us, since we were only going to sleep there. The...

My girlfriend and I checked in yesterday and took the elevator to the 5th floor (my girlfriend got stuck between the doors). We had to walk up with our suitcases for the 6th and found out that our room (610) was anything but good. Offcourse we didn't expect a lot of this room for the price we paid, but this...

My daughter was booked to do a show in town which was located just around the corner so I chose this hotel. We couldn't get a better location for our needs, it was perfect. I also chose it because it had 2 beds and the price was well within my budget. The people running the place were wonderful, friendly, and...

Worst hotel I've ever stayed it, hands down. The hotel is filthy and dilapidated. The 25 year old television in our room was electrical-taped at the corner; no doubt from some domestic confrontation; also, the cable TV didn't work, unless you like watching snow. Our window blinds were installed crooked; when we attempted to open the blinds, they fell to...

You can get better for the same price. Showers not cleaned, no toilet paper. Quite noisy. Pas terrible, même à ce prix-là on s'attend à mieux. Les salles de bain n'étaient pas propres, absence de papier de toilette. Les murs sont en carton.

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
