My wife and I had a great stay at Alain's B&B (room #2). Wonderful breakfasts, comfortable accomodations and short walk to the Beaudry subway station made it easy for us to explore Montreal. Highly recommended.

We stayed two nights at this location, and the building itself was quite nice. The outdoor shower was enjoyed. It's in the gay village about a block away from a strip of restaurants and bars. The rooms were very beautiful and clean, the nicest we stayed in on our vacation. The breakfasts are very healthy, and may not be suited...

Stayed two nights and it was everything my boyfriend and I needed. Central location two blocks to all the bars and restaurants of Rue Saint Catherine. We used the Bixi bikes just down the block one day and it was so easy and convenient! Breakfast was delicious and quick for getting us out and into the city early. We stayed...

My husband and I stayed here on June 15th and June 16th. This B&B has a great location and is superbly managed. Alain is very friendly and recommended great restaurants. The place itself is absolutely spotless, I'd be hard pressed to recall another such hotel/B&B that was so amazingly clean. We stayed in 2 different rooms due to my last...

We stayed in Room 4. The B&B itself is beautiful with hardwood floors and a large balcony that can be accessed via the common room. One of the things that can be a pain about Montreal is the parking. Most residents have stickers and guest parking is limited. That said; Alain goes way out of his way to help you...

We have stayed in some lovely B&Bs around the world and AL ranks up there with the best of them. We received a warm welcome from Alain who provided us with great local advice and recommendations. Our room was large and spotlessly clean with a great comfy bed. As other reviewers have stated the breakfasts each morning were great. A...

Alain, our host, clearly cares about offering his guests the highest standards of comfort, ease, atmosphere, gourmet breakfasts, expert advice on Montreal, as well as pragmatic conveniences for a brief or longer stay. Beds and bedding top quality and so comfortable, without fussiness, everything super clean. Common room, fridge, and tables allowed us to visit with each other and save...

Agree with all the positive reviews for this B&B. Breakfast was wonderful, rooms clean and the location was close to metro and bike stations. Nothing but good. I just have one comment for those who may not know Montreal well. This B&B is located in the Village. If you are traveling with children you may have some explaining to do...

The Alexandre Logan B&B was absolutely fantastic. The host was attentive, friendly and a great cook. Every morning he'd entertain my lame attempts at speaking French with a smile. The house itself is unbelievably spacious, clean and wonderfully decorated. I stayed in room 5, the smallest room, but never felt cramped. If looking for a comfortable and homey experience, look...

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
