While we talked to Francois over the phone in making our reservations, we never actually met him while staying at this B&B. Instead, we met Laurence, a delightful young woman who made us feel most welcomed. This B&B is located in the area of houses with outside staircases to the second floors. So there was a climb up a spiral...

The rooms were very clean, quiet & well maintained, & had an adjoining comfortable sitting area. The rooms have comfortable queen sized beds, TV & AC. Breakfasts were adequate & ranged from good to somewhat less depending on the day. Some days included eggs or yogurt, fruit & various cheeses other days were simply waffles. All days offered a choice...

We loved the location in the busy area in Montreal. We could bike and walk to many places to enjoy a get away. The room was huge and the bathroom and shower was out of this world. Everything was very clean. Although English is our only language, the hosts were bilingual and we could all chat very well. At breakfast,...

The best part is the free parking spot behind the inn and breakfast. We spent 6 nights in 3 different rooms. Francois was very friendly, and was able to check us in late. Room 5 and 3 are similar, shower stalls in a private bathroom. Room 4 is bigger has a tub and overlooks the park across the street. Good...

I did like their concept and the room was comfortable generally however there were two things that means that I can not recommend it. Firstly I had discreetly asked for two of the pillows to be changed as they smelt bad. When we got back in the evening they were the same pillows. The smell of greasy hair and body...

I just spent three nights at Chez Francoise, it was very comfortable, the bed was great and the room quiet. The bathroom was super clean and offered amenities which were welcome. Laurence was very friendly and helpful. Overall it was a great place to stay but I found the location to be a bit far from any metro so I...

This place was great!!! Francois met us out on the street when we arrived, helped us to our parking spot and got us settled in.We felt at home immediately. The rooms described were exactly that. There was a small common room with a TV and chairs which was nice after a long day of site seeing. Francois was very helpful...

The only thing I can add to the many glowing reviews is that these people actually care about you! I left my wallet (my entire wallet, multiple credit cards, driver's license, cash, etc.) at a restaurant a few blocks away from the B&B. I realized this in the taxi about 2 mins away from the airport. I was on the...

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
