Visit here if you want to see triple bunkbeds made from warehouse shelves. Our room had 9 beds in an absolutely tiny room. Barely enough room for the 6 of ours luggage. The shower had no hot water and overall the hostel was a dump. Also 2 of our "beds" broke whilst we were in them. Luckily with no one...

We booked 2 rooms in advance for 3 days and informed the staff with an e-mail about our late arrival. We did this because it is mentionned on their homepage that check-in is 5pm but later check-in is possible when prenotived. However, when we arrived 10:30pm at the Hostel it was closed. So, we used the bell and a man...

My friends and I took a trip to Montreal and after walking 10 blocks from the subway in the heat we get here and are told that our room was given away, (even though we came when we told them we were coming) but they had room at their other hostel. Which was 20 blocks away, but they said it...

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
