We hated to leave. I would have said this B&B was like home, but my home isn't this handsomely furnished and my breakfasts, not this nice. The location could not be better. Loved this neighborhood but also the easy access to Metro for other great neighborhoods in Montreal. Phillipe is super but his nephew, Gilles, equally so.

My partner and I recently stayed at BBV for the Diver/cite weekend and I must say that the accommodations and hospitality exceeded our expectations. Nicholas and Phillipe are such gracious hosts and welcomed us upon our arrival. They were amazingly helpful in providing us with information and recommendations on restaurants and events occurring during the weekend. They also were extremely...

This being our first trip ever to Canada, we did a little research and found this great B & B. I don't like to go out first thing in a.m. looking for breakfast and the breakfast offerings were very satisfactory, including eggs as you like them, croissants, frruit, cereals, etc. Very comfortable bed. The best feature of all was the...

It is hard to add anything to the other reviews of this wonderful B & B. The premises are scrupulously clean, neat and modern, and the hosts impeccably friendly and accommodating. The location is absolutely wonderful: quiet, supremely comfortable, with easy-to-reach métro station (which has an ATM), restaurants, cafés and clubs catering, it seems, to every taste, within easy walking...

This is the second time we have stayed here and will keep coming back I'm sure. The room we stayed in (#10) is very nice, touch small but that's fine. The breakfast room in the middle of everything is bright, cheery and a pleasure. We took too long to book and initially they only had our room for 2 of...

This B&B is excellent value and is a very central location. It's a 2 minute walk to a metro station and right off St. Catherine. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They helped us figure out airport shuttle schedules and helped us make dinner reservations (our french was a bit rusty!). Also a great breakfast. Overall, a great stay.

For a two-night business trip to Montreal B&B du Village made eminent sense. It was very affordable, in a prime location and a very pleasant experience. The staff were warm, welcoming and helpful. When I needed something printed and scanned, for instance, it was done immediately. The room was clean, modern and comfortable and there was a nice atmosphere around...

BBV has nice clean comfortable rooms, a shared computer/desk/refrigerator on the 2nd floor and an awesome deck that we enjoyed many an afternoon cocktail on. We stayed in a room on the 2nd floor with a shared bath and that worked out perfect for us. Our hosts, Philippe and Nicolas, were the highlights of our stay at BBV. They are...

I can't think of a better experience anywhere else I've stayed, and at a very good value. We felt very welcomed and Phillipe and Nicolas (and Gilles) were the most gracious hosts, making us feel at home in this city. It was like visiting old friends! The fresh fruits, croissants and coffee at breakfast were most welcome, as well. We...

I absolutely adored BBV! My trip to Montreal was only enhanced by my wonderful stay with Philippe, Nicolas and Gilles! Philippe and Nicolas were always extremely helpful and really impacted my stay in Montreal. I don't think I would have enjoyed this electric city without the charm and comfort of the BBV. I look forward to going back and I've...

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
