We stayed here two nights prior to taking a cruise that left from Montreal. The hotel was in a nice residential neighborhood a few miles from downtown Montreal. There was a shopping mall a few blocks away and Crescent Street and many trendy restaurants with lots of outdoor seating was a 15 minute walk away. The rooms in the hotel...

Stayed at this hotel for a few days and it met most requirements. It is very convenient to the downtown shopping areas, metro station, walking distance of Old Montreal. The room was a good size, bed comfortable, aircon worked well, bathroom was modern and although we didn't use the kitchen facilities they seemed as if they would be adequate. The...

We stayed here for three days. It's conveniently located near McGill University. The room we had was a little run down. We had no toilet seat cover and our closet had no door. The free morning breakfast was ok. Styro breakfast but a muffin and coffee is good enough for me. The under the building parking was great and very...

Dear Pekelo98, Thank you for sharing your experience at Residence Inn Montreal-Westmount with the Tripadvisor family. You are right to mention that the property is well located, in a quiet residential street, and a stone's throw away from Montreal's well-known Ste Catherine street. The Atwater metro station, shopping center, cinema complex, restaurants and so much more are just a short...

Staff excellent. Room not ready when we arrived but they were very nice, friendly and accomodating. Here for a short stay. Rented a 2 bedroom suite as we were with my 90 year old mother and she needed to rest privately during our stay. Parking is tight and challenging for a larger vehicle, but not unusual for Montreal or other...

This hotel is in a great location. We spent two nights here and were very happy to stay in a quiet, residential area that was literally two blocks from Rue St Catherine which has a bunch of restaurants and shops. If you like walking, it's a reasonable walk to many of the key attractions. We went on foot to Old...

This hotel is in an old apartment building and I mean old. There are 18 floors and only two old slow elevators. Only one staircase leads to the lobby and it is rather industrial (metal steps). the elevators were so slow during prime times, that we ended up carrying all our luggage down the stairs on the day we left....

Dear CDAMD, Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience at our property, we are sorry that your stay was not up to your expectations. It is true that at peak times our elevators are requested on every floor, especially during breakfast times, as our delicious complimentary hot and cold buffet is so popular that our guests...

Stayed here for a short trip to Montreal and to see McGill University. Staff was friendly and the room was perfect for the 4 of us. We could walk to a number of museums and other sites. The front staff was helpful when we had questions on parking and directions.

I spent 3 nights at the Residence Inn with my wife and 3 kids (15, 13 and 9). We had a suite with 2 rooms and a kitchenette. The room was nice and clean with enough space for everyone to spread out. The bathroom is dated and small with a tiny toilet. The service was great and the staff was...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
