We really enjoyed our stay at LHotel in Montreal. This hotel is full of artwork of every type making it very interesting. The staff are fluent in French and English and very friendly and helpful. Our room was really nice with lovely furnishings as well as a small refrigerator and coffee maker. The hotel was convenient to walking everywhere we...

We just returned from a 4-and-a-half day trip to Montreal where we stayed at the LHotel, a boutique hotel in Old Montreal. It's located in the east portion of Old Montreal just a block from Notre Dame, in other words, close to most everything we wanted to visit. We stayed in the Sam Francis room (312) a large corner suite...

This is a nice hotel that is centrally located for walking around and dining choices. I had a room on the 1st floor and had problems with the Wi-Fi from time to time and had to go to the lobby for a connection at different times. The room was large and the bed was comfortable. You must pay for breakfast...

Dear HarJo, Thank you for taking the time to recount your past stay with us here at LHotel Montreal. Being a historical building and located this well unfortunately means higher prices in the city. Nevertheless, we seek to meet the pricing with the outstanding service you should receive. The fact that you had issues with the WiFi connection is an...

We recently spent 3 very pleasant nights at LHotel. Even though we didn't have the biggest room it was more than adequate with an extremely comfortable bed, high quality linen and towels. The high ceilings give the room a larger feel. The quirky deco is charming and gives the Hotel it's individual style. What makes this Hotel really special are...

Yes, it has odd decor but welcoming in a weird way. The lobby sets the tone with it's neon sculptures and strange angles. But there are lots of cozy corners to sit in and a bar. The staff are all young and friendly. Their recommendations for restaurants were very helpful. We paid the $22 a day for valet parking which...

Okay, The first thing you have to know about his hotel is that it is an hilarious incongruent hodgepodge of design. Seriously. Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
