We stayed at Le Saint Sulpice for the second time over the weekend, and once again it was a wonderful experience. The staff is very helpful, extremely kind and also thoughtful. The hotel is very well equipped, and each room has everything you need for a great stay in Old Montreal. We travelled with our 2 year old, so the...

What can I say wonderful rooms great, atmosphere and friendly and helpful staff. It is a luxury hotel at reasonable prices in the heart of old Montreal. A hidden gem that is so very comfortable to stay in that we came back 2 weekends in a row!

Beautiful rooms in the middle of old Montreal. The staff is more than happy to speak in English for you. I like the fact that the bedroom is enclosed in. The food in the restaurant downstairs is OK but the waiter is not happy to refill your coffee, I had to ask 7 times to refill my 2nd cup of...

The Saint-Sulpice Hotel and their staff have exceeded our expectations during our recent stay to conduct our new hire training program. All of the staff were so welcoming and made a point of learning our names and making us feel as though we were at home each evening. The food is exceptional, the wine list extensive and the service outstanding....

This hotel was the highlight of our trip to Eastern Canada. I received a good rate by calling the hotel directly, but then I received a Travelzoo VIP offer that included free breakfast and an upgraded room. I called and spoke to Asst Office Mgr, Andre Guite, and although he couldn't provide us with the free breakfast offer, he did...

This is the second time we have come to Le Saint-Suplice for a romantic get-away. Each time we have had an overall great experience. Very welcoming staff, very informed concierge, great location, and beautiful room. We took advantage of the gym down the street - small but well appointed, and the spa just a block away. Got a nice discount...

Great location in Old Montreal in an area with cobblestone streets and many historical buildings. Lots of restaurants, art galleries and original shops and restaurants within walking distance. All hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and classy. The eco bamboo towels were very nice and soft. I would definitely recommend this very nice boutique hotel!

My husband and I booked a weekend getaway at this Old Montreal hotel and loved the location. It's just steps from the Notre-Dame Basilica and within walking distance of lots of great restaurants. I got a good deal on this hotel via Jetsetter & had a great stay - staff were friendly and helpful, location was great & the suite was large & very comfortable. Restaurant was good. Wifi free & strong. Shower disappointing - held in place by duct tape. All in all, would recommend.

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
