Le Saint-Sulpice is a wonderful place to stay. The staff if friendly, the location is great, the rooms are wonderful. We've stayed there twice and this past visit, got the smaller of the suites-I won't do that again...it's way too small. My only complaint though (and really not their fault, as I chose it). One fantastic thing, is that the...

My husband and I stayed at the Saint Sulpice Hotel for two nights in late June of 2014, and were very pleased. The room was spacious and elegant, and the bathroom was a good size too. Service was friendly and the location -- in the heart of the old city and very close to the Montreal waterfront was perfect. Concierge...

I chose this hotel because of the location and the suite option. The location is excellent. Next to Notre Dame, one block from the old port, and two-three blocks from the Place Des Armes subway station. Our room looked out on Rue St. Paul, the main street in Old Montreal. Be warned, on weekends it can get a little loud...

Lovely Hotel in the heart of Old Montreal Warm friendly welcome on arrival, We had booked a deluxe suite with balcony which overlooked the courtyard and restaurant. It was very nice a little on the dark side the only negative, but it is an old building. Rooms were clean with a small kitchen area with microwave, a small fry pan...

Virtually next door to Notre Dame in the old town, we were recommended this hotel by a Canadian friend who had stayed here before and we were not disappointed. Efficient communication prior to arrival, prompt check in and attentive staff. We accidentally left our camera in our (valet parked) car and it was promptly retrieved for us, for example. Nice...

I don't know where all these comments are coming from, this hotel is far to be a 4 stars hotel ... there's no pool no spa no sauna the service is ridiculous, apparently the staff are paid minumum wage in such a hotel* and they have lot of functions I heard them complaining ... the terase is not that nice!...

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
