I read reviews before booking here, so I knew about the stairs and I knew about the erotic boutique located below. Once you get past those things, this place is really a great value. Clean, spacious room with wonderful hardwood floors and exposed brick just as pictured. Our room was on the street side, with our window situated right next...

I just got back from my stay in Montreal on Sunday and as I travel quite frequently for business and pleasure I am always trying out different hotels to see what kind of experience I will receive. This hotel was perfect as it was situated within the downtown area of Montreal. A great walking experience as it put us right...

The hotel is very well located, i.e. in the middle of the city (though over a sex shop, for those traveling with kids) and the staff was friendly. The hotel itself is average, and the inside is nicer than the outside (you wonder where you are staying when you get there). It's a good place to stay when you are...

Hello, you are so right, in montreal a lot of the inside buildings are nicer then the outside. Espacially the historic ones. Thank you for your nice comments. Carole

The location of this hotel is perfect - a 10min walk from Old Montreal, half a block from the metro station, and a block away from the airport transit bus. We stayed in a room that faced away from the street, so despite the busy nightlife in the area we heard very little street noise! The staff is wonderfully helpful,...

This was my first trip to Montreal and the location of this hotel was absolutely perfect! My 2 friends and I stayed in the studio with the separate entrance and the long flight of stairs and we enjoyed the quiet. Our only quibble would be the lack of lighting at our separate entrance as we walked all day and evening...

This was a very quaint hotel that is centrally located. It's very clean, cute, & comfortable. Amazing continental breakfast every day! Zachary & David took great care of us. This place was a winner & I'd definitely stay there again!

Great location, room very clean and warm, no street noise. Priced reasonably. Downside to hotel - lots of stairs. Lots. If you have a big bag you might find it a challenge if you are not fit. Not sure if there is disabled access.

Thans for your review, you are right people have to manage the steep stairs because we dont have any elevator its a historic building, and now that the street is pedestrian its even nicer to be downton,,hourra for the location. I hope we will see you back soon, Carole

They gave us a room in an small apartment rather than the hotel building unexpectedly. The rooms smelled cigrette. It was supppsed to be non-smoking. I think these reasons are sufficient not to stay in such a hotel.

First. Unexpectedly, they gave us an isolated room with long stairs in another apartment separate from the hotel building. The room smelled cigrette smoking. However, they kindly offered to change the room. Second. The price was unexpectedly higher compared to Frenchized inns. Rooms were clean. Service and hospitality was poor.

We wanted to stay in downtown Montreal, in a hotel close to downtown, and the Old City. This hotel, from what we read online, was ideal, and the price was right. Unfortunately what we didn't learn until we got there, was that the hotel's check-in desk was on the Second Floor, up a very, very long flight of stairs. And...

Our budget boutique hotel is located on the second floor of a centennial building and there is no possibility of an elevator. We realize that there are numerous stairs to contend with and that it can be difficult for some guests. We indicate this situation in several locations on our website to help prevent any issues. I am pleased, however,...

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
